Packers on 6.7 percent playoff chances: 'That's what we've done to ourselves'

With a record of 5-6-1, the Packers are on shaky ground with regard to their playoff prospects.

6.7% sounds pretty good to me. That means if there are 15 women in a bar, one will go home with you.

6.7% is enough to keep me interested.

Andrew Weber, that name sounds familiar. Wait, I think I hear a song breaking out. Is it Aaron Rodgers? McCarthy? No, it's Matt Flynn on the rebound:

Don't cry for me, Green Bay
The truth is I never left you
All through my wild days
My mad existence
I kept my promise
Don't keep your distance

And as for fortune, and as for fame
I never invited them in
Though it seemed to the world they were all I desired

They are illusions
They are not the solutions they promised to be
The answer was here all the time
I love you and hope you love me

Don't cry for me, Green Bay.

let me play this game too......................if the Vikings win their remaining games, the lions lose the rest of theirs and the Packers and Bears both win one or fewer games, the Vikings are your 2013 NFC North champions.

How's that 6.7 feel now?

I think I posted 10% after the lions loss. Basically we win out and the lions go 2-2. NOW....the real question is: Is there even a 6.7% chance we win out?

Evidently there is:

6.7 % .... and for all that's mathematical I can't check that out...easily.

I have enough difficulty determining exactly why in the overall picture our team is declining right now.

Of course, I feel 100% better than if I was a Houston Texan fan.

Can anyone here explain just why a team that looks as good as they do on paper has had it's collective butt's kicked over the past... what now... eleven (11) games !

I'm confused over the misfortunes this season of the Texan's. As are the fella's that stuff every puter with reams of data. >>> in order to turn a large profit. That then offers computer 'results' at available venues at some $price$ if you desire to lose money >>> before you lose money.

'Results' I surrender that offers an NFL fan some real hope of picking a winner against the spread or straight up in matchup's involving the Houston Texan's. Yet 'results' that isn't worth coon shit in terms of even imagining a bet or pick of the Texans will pay off short of some form of extreme voodoo magic.

To a four year old. >>> Here's how to bet your $dollar$ and Texans Johnny.

The Texans...... or .......the Packers !

To any Packer fan:

Funny timing on that question Woody. The answer is quite simple.

Poor QB play. Its not just us that can't win with a subpar QB which is a point many hysterical fans should realize. Shaub threw how many pick 6's in a row (games in a row)? You can't win like that (which is the point i used to make about Favre after every playoff loss long before TT and MM came to town).

Of course I'd love to see this team sneak into the playoffs.

But I am not terribly hopeful, since it requires the Packers to suddenly begin winning without Rodgers and probably without EDS, and would require the Lions to lose two of four games, all of which look very winnable for them.

REPORT: Houston Texan's @ Jacksonville Jaguars

http://www.houstontexans.com/news/article-2/Matt-Schaub-relieves-Case-Keenum-in-2nd-half/6b2b5935-f8eb-457f-b7e9-b36e9d1b0820

Matt Schaub relieves Case Keenum in 2nd half

"Matt came in and did a tremendous job," Kubiak said. "He gave us a chance to win the game. Unfortunately it's a lot like some of the other games: you come up a few plays short." ....

Comment woodbuck27:

Now there's an example of unreality. Shedding the weak light on something very much in the dark.

Schaub was 17-of-29 for 198 yards and a quarterback rating of 76.5. Keenum, meanwhile, completed 16-of-29 pases for 159 yards and a rating of 68.0.

I wonder which College QB the Texans will pick with the NO. 1?...... woodbuck27

A Big test for the LIONS this Sunday in Philly Fritz. If the past dictates the now >>> the LIONS won their last game in their matchup's with the Eagles @ Philly 26-23 in OT. Setting that win aside. The LIONS have lost six of seven to the Eagles going back to 1995. The LIONS must focus 'only' on that day as this game is likely the biggest one for this team looking forward.

I get that game and will watch it somewhat closely. Sadly... I don't get the Falcons @ Packers.

LIONS @ Philly Sunday Dec. 8, 2013:

Detroit Lions at Philadelphia Eagles: Preview by the Numbers

Comment woodbuck27: Here's a key fact/stat.

"The Eagles take care of the ball and force turnovers. The Lions do neither (at least consistently). After seven weeks of football, the Lions had a +5 turnover margin, 6th-best in the NFL.

In five games since then, their margin is -13. Miraculously, the Lions are 3-2 in that span, but they can’t possibly expect that to continue, especially against winning teams."

Packers Playoff Picture: Green Bay Now Controls Its Own Destiny

By Jason Hirschhorn  @JBHirschhorn on Dec 17 2013, 8:00 AM

After the Ravens upset the Lions on Monday Night Football, the left-for-dead Packers find themselves in control of their playoff fate.

Checking this LINK:

http://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/playoffodds

Our % Chance has >>> risen to 11.9 %

Comment woodbuck27:

Packer fans...we simply have to play it as always like a playoff game -one game at a time. Never thinking too far ahead and always focused on each day the Packers prepare for/play it's opponent.

It's ALL 'just' defeat the Pittsburgh Steelers this week. What will 'just that' take.

I believe that the chances declined with the latest bad news released officially on Friday 20 Dec. 2013.

That is so particularly in terms of the loss of a solid DT..Johnny Jolly.

The news on Aaron Rodger shouldn't have come as any real shock/surprize.

That's a whole different issue. Many different questions.
