Game Time temperature of 13 with wind chill of 4 expected. Snow should be done by then.

If the packers van steal this one, maybe Rodgers becomes a factor yet. Don't feel good about this one though. Falcons have a poor pass defense, but I don't know if the Packers can exploit that weakness.

IT looks like Steven Jackson is starting to heat up. And with the Packers' famous "Sieve" defense, I don't see how this team can win today.

Falcons will load eleven in the box and dare Flynn to complete a single pass.

Sigh. I've lost faith in this team, altogether. They suck right now.

If they win today, give MM some credit. This team is listing badly. And alot of that's on him. They haven't played for shit since Rodgers went down.

I believe many were clamoring to sign Stephen Jackson last offseason. I put that up there with drafting Mcmillan, but one didn't cost millions.

The Falcons are one team with a worse defense than the Packers, and they've been horrendous against the run. At this point in their respective careers, Lacy > SJax. This is one game where the Packers can potentially control the ground game. The Falcons do have a better QB (having a pretty mediocre year) but their OL has been pretty bad. Hopefully GB at home, with a bit of help from the weather, can nullify Atlanta's QB advantage.

So Packers actually have their starting OL if EDS can stay in there. It's when he comes out that things get ugly.

Harlan Huckleby

I'm keeping my eye on EDS playing on a bad ankle. I'd be more in favor of using him as emergency backup. But unfortunately I don't have the final say, will hope for the best.

Joemailman

So, will this be a smaller crowd today? Or will the fans who normally don't have access to affordable tickets take advantage of low prices despite the weather and state of the team?

Let's hope EDS and the rest of the starters can play the whole game...and play it well. If EDS goes down, are they sliding Lang to C, barclay to RG and Sherrod to RT? Keep Barclay at RT and bring in Lane Taylor?
Tretter has been practicing but hasn't been activated yet.

Really hoping for a GB win today. A loss all but eliminates them from playoffs.

If Barclay is at Center, Lang at Guard and Sherrod at RT I might not make it past the first play. Please keep tabs on them for me while I am whisked away to the emergency room with an anxiety attack.

Same would go for EDS at center but then I doubt they bench Barclay for Sherrod.

Friday's Injury Report (usually there is a Sat update but I haven't seen it yet)

Packers
Out: DE C.J. Wilson (ankle), QB Aaron Rodgers (collarbone).
Questionable: C Evan Dietrich-Smith (ankle/knee).
Probable: TE Brandon Bostick (concussion), ILB Jamari Lattimore (quadriceps), LT David Bakhtiari (illness), OLB Mike Neal (abdomen), DT Ryan Pickett (knee), OLB Nick Perry (foot).

Falcons
Questionable: TE Tony Gonzalez (toe), S Zeke Motta (hand).
Probable: C Peter Konz (ankle), LB Sean Weatherspoon (knee).

EDS missed practice on Friday, two in a row due to his ankle. Officially Questionable.

I may have scooped myself. If Lang is at center, then they could leave Barclay at RT and stick Taylor in at Guard.

EDS has to be healthy enough to at least backup today as he is one of only seven OL active.

Fritz: The Atlanta Falcons don't play well in a cold weather stadium. The defeated the Buffalo Bills on the road last week because that game was played in Toronto at the Skydome. If they had played that game in Buffalo...would the Falcons have won?

In analysis the Packers are the superior team. ie Here are some examples:

a) Overall offense: Falcons 13th and Packers 5th

b) Passing Offense: Falcons 5th and Packers 7th.

c) Rushing Offense Packers 8th and Falcons 29th.

d) SCORING Offense: PACKERS 11th and Falcons @ 23rd.

e) In REAL QB Rating Differential comparison the Packers are the better team by nearly 14.

f) The Falcons allow a terrible 28.3 pts/game and score 21.8. Packers Pts. for = 24.5... Pts. against = 25.4

g) Green Bay wins the comparison in Toxic Differential by a differential of 9 (- 4 Packers and - 13 Falcons)

Looking at the intangibles:

It's going to come down to Mike Smith Vs Mike McCarthy at Lambeau Field. MM cannot allow this game to get away from him in the 'W' column.

It's going to be in MM's play calling and reaction to his QB's success or not. It's going to come down to Flynn demonstrating more confidence with the Packers Offense Vs Matt Ryan using his weapons ( Roddy White, Stephen Jackson and Tony Gonzalez) effectively.

Matt Flynn was sacked six times last week Vs the Bills. This guy is nearly as slow in the pocket doing his check downs as Matt Flynn (sacked seven times by the Lions in week 13).

How well can Matt Ryan perform in the cold and in winter conditions !? He hasn't played very well all season in excellent conditions.

I see no reason to give up on the Packers today.

Would I bet a lot of $money$ on the Packers ?

NO !!

GO PACK GO !

I'd say that's the plan. Taylor/Barclay on the right side probably helps the running game more than Barclay/Sherrod. I think MM will definitely be looking to run the ball if he can. And I'm sure you would agree that's the key to victory. :-P

Its the regular O line out there.

Like that Starks saw early action (nice run for first down) but wonder if Lacy was out for lecture or equipment?

Loved the screen.

TE routes plus Jordy seem open short.

Lacy is a best but he HAS to learn to get low on contact. If he did that, would have been touch down on his reception to the 1 yard line. He stayed high and spun instead.

I'm hoping for Det vs Phila weather conditions for this years super bowl. Kinda like the 60's Packer championship games!
A little--but those games were mostly just really cold or windy (1961, 1962, 1966 title games), really muddy (1965, when I think it had been raining), or just sort of an ordinary winter day (1960 in Philly) Only the '65 game had any snow at all, I think. Today's game in Philly is unbelievably snowy. The Packers game it reminds me of is the one about 30 years ago when they played Tampa Bay in a snowstorm at Lambeau when the Bucs were still in our division.

Lions 8 - Eagles ... a goose egg so far.

Didn't look good - ankle twisted under a defender during a tackle.

I hate that stuff Rastak. He's such a competitor ... a super talent.

Per the Fox stat sheet, the Packers have 7 points off 0 Falcon turnovers. Not sure how we managed that.

The conditions of the Philly- Detroit game kind of remind me of the Bills playoff game back in the 90's when Lofton was there.
