Don't know, but one of the announcers noted that Detroit's DL was starting to take the game over. Right before they gave up 150 or so yards in one quarter to Shady McCoy.

On the Viking INT, why was the play blown dead? The defender should have been allowed to get up and run with the ball, thus eliminating valuable time on the clock. Might have taken 10 seconds off the clock with a run around type play. It didn't appear the defender was downing himself.

Those early games were unreal in terms of excitement.

The Pat's just beat the Browns by one point.

Packers by one point over the Falcons.

The back and forth games in Philly ( Detroit looked good early in this one and lost it and bounced back and lost it ) and Baltimore (a 29-26 late 4th Qtr. last play win) were just unreal...very exciting..

Ten unanswered points by Miami in the 4th Qtr. to top the Pittsburg Steelers.

Yes the Pat's were set up by old habits and not learning from them in that game.

Anyone even half bold might have made a low CP play on the Browns.... ie ...in a Pro Pickem and not looked foolish.

So many games this week were difficult to analyze. I counted 10-11 in that category and Cleveland at NE sure wasn't one of them.

Pats got a VERY weak PI call vs. Cleveland that got NE close to get the winning score. The zebras today were worshipped after last year's replacement F-ups. They are making it look like they want the replacements back. Triplette struck again with his bone up call on TD run in Cincy game.

I've never seen anything quite like that field this day. When I first selected the channel I wasn't at all sure what I was watching. It was a sorta like the 911 experience (not at all in terms of emphasis on a very tragic and historical event).

It was just somehow unreal as in what's going on here? The snow was so heavy / thick on the playing surface. The only surface cleared looked like it had been removed by hand plows. It never subsided either. Defense was almost out the window.

Passing had to be short pass's and best to run the ball... run like the blue blazes.

That game:

http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/2013120805/2013/REG14/lions@eagles#menu=highlights&tab=recap

Eagles RB LeSean McCoy was lights out good today. 29 carries for 217 yards ...2 TD's and a LG of

The new Lions weapon... Jeremy Ross was very special for the Lions with a total of 6 punt and kick returns for a total of 202 yards (including a 98 yards kick return and 58 yard punt return) and both for six points. Get him on your fantasy football team.

Nick Foles was finally picked after 19TD pass's. He was still OK for the conditions going 11/22 for 179 yards passing and 1 TD.

Matthew Stafford didn't have a good day. 10/25 for 148 Yards and 0 TD-0 Picks which was good for him as he's been sloppy of late. Calvin Johnson looked ordinary 3 receptions for 49 yards and Zero-Zero.

Just remember though, kids. If you need to survive in the outdoors during the winter, you should not eat snow to stay hydrated. The body heat used to melt the snow will be more useful than the hydration gained from eating the snow.

2 notes of interest from the Broncos game:

1.) Welkah suffered his 2nd concussion in 4 weeks. You have to wonder how many more he can take.
2.) Prater kicked a 64 yard FG in the cold to set a new NFL record. I was driving by the stadium at the time, taking my kids to a birthday party down in the Tech Center. It was cold out, and the ball must have been a brick.

Yea the Boys defense isn't. The Bears are something else through the air and with Matt Forte and Michael Bush at RB their offense is balanced... very decent.

Without some real heat on the Bears QB. We'll be in very tough against a passing attack which may be the finest in the NFL right now. How are the smaller men in our secondary going to handle the height and athleticism of the Bears WR's and TE? I can see the PI calls and the chippy play of Tramone Williams now.

How will MM game plan against this team short of aiming to get it done in a shootout? That will mean that AR must have returned under center.

They have two good WRs but they are nowhere close to the Broncos' passing game.

Yes that Denver passing game is awesome but what I'm observing is that the bears passing game is a load for the Packers secondary to contend with. It's the size of their receivers that's scary. We have to hope that Ted Thompson soon gets this. That he'll try to pick taller more physically gifted DB's.

Brandon Marshall ( 6' - 4") 8th ranked WR in the NFL and Alshon Jeffrey (6' - 3") the 5th ranked WR, are outstanding athletes; both with over 1000 yards receiving and a combined 15 TD's. Chip in with ( 6' -6" ) Martellus Bennett the 11th ranked TE with nearly 600 yards and 5 TD's. An OL that maximizes protection for their QB and they seem more together with Josh McCown (QB Rating 109.8) than Jay Cutler (QB Rating 88.4).

Add a strong RB in Matt Forte who works his tail off with nearly 1600 yards of total offense and 9 TD's. His backup Michael Bush ( 6' - 1" - 245 lbs.) is a bull and very effective when called upon.

and Voila !! The 5th ranked offense in the NFC. The Packers are Ranked at #3 but in terms of defeating the Bears it seems to me we need Aaron Rodgers back. We need to see our team healthy.

It would be great if Randall Cobb returned in time for Packers @ Chicago.

Well, the first time around they were pushed around like a bunch of bitches. I have every reason to believe that this will occur again. Packer CBs aren't physical, but they better learn quickly to even have a chance against those monsters. Punch them or do something right at the LOS and throw them off their route. If I see one CB give them 10yards off the LOS, like last time, I'm gonna lose it.

I just wish we had the layout hitter safety for when Marshall or Jeffrey runs across the middle....BOOM! Never saw it coming.

If Rodgers is back for the Chicago game, the Bears WRs won't matter. Green Bay will roll.

Our 'D' will have to tighten up.

MM will have to be ready for a shoot out. That will mean 'best ' that Aaron Rodgers is ready and able.

OUR best chance is if Marc Trestman makes, what IMO, would be an error going back to Jay Cutler. Jay Mac has the offense believing in him. Marc Trestman is a nice man. He may wrestle over loyalty issues!?

The chemistry in that team looked excellent last night. Now Jay Cutler is going to want his spot back. He has to somehow match Josh Mac and demonstrate that he's really the man under center. The word out of Chicago is that the team is reluctant to commit some $16 M$ to Cutler with a Franchise tag next season. Maybe he'll fit better in Houston? What could the Bears do in terms of a deal with the Texans?

There are other teams that could certainly upgrade at QB and is the draft class in 2014 the answer?

Looking at the QB position in Chicago in terms of Josh Mac>>> He's 34 years old and most recently before going to the Bears was what? Coaching high School football !? The Bears have to simply wait; 'only' part ways with Jay Cutler if that means a perfect situation and trade for him.

Why was Shields on Jeffries instead of Marshall that game? He's the #1 guy there, and his play is the reason Jeffries is doing as well as he is.

Earlier in his career Marshall was loose cannon. I've been waiting for him to implode, but he seems to have matured/settled down in Chicago.
