Yee-HAW!!! RT @BlkSportsOnline BSO: Jerry Jones Says Cowboys Plan On Sticking With Tampa 2 Defense http://bit.ly/19tONgW

I think it might be fun to work for Jerry, but there would always be decisions made that you know would be best left to someone else. Like when you are a bottom rated defense and you make the call on your scheme based on you incomplete talent conversion.

Smart Football ‏@smartfootball 5m

AZ can win and get snubbed.

To claim the final playoff spot in the NFC, the Cardinals need to defeat the 49ers and hope the Tampa Bay Buccaneers spring a major upset by winning against the Saints in New Orleans.

San Fran at Lambeau in Round One is a distinct possibility.

I hate it but I'll take it and the 49ers do not want to go there.

OK, can anyone beat this playoff scenario should the Packers win?

Panthers (@Falcons), Saints (vBucs) and Cardinals (v49ers) all win. Sending Saints on the road to Green Bay, 6th seeded 49ers on road to Dallas/Philly. Seahawks are a nightmare at home no matter what but you might get the Panthers in Carolina instead.

Not really game related, but read something that warmed my heart today. Have to love Florio and his mud slinging at times

A year after being fired by the Broncos in the wake of only own playoff win following a pair of decade-old Super Bowl victories fueled by a team he didn’t build and held together by salary-cap violations, Shanahan landed in D.C. as the man firmly in charge of the football operation.

There is still some hope for Leslie Frazier as the players like him.

Shanahan and Schwartz are looking for work tomorrow.

Shanahan has been going through the motions for weeks now. The situation in Washington isn't good for any HC.

Sexy Rex is going to be OK as the jets Big Gut likes him. He gets one more season and the failure there will fall on QB Geno Smith's Rookie season.

All the Jets still want is a QB. It's "been a long time ..been a long long time"... since...?

I'm listening to the Lions' radio announcer while I clean up a bit. What a laugh they are!

First, they're laying it on thick about how terribly banged up the Lions' secondary is. No talk about how this Lions team has fewer injuries than either of their NFC North rivals, nor any talk of what looks like an uninspired performance.

They're also lamenting Calvin Johnson's absence today, which gets me thinking about Matt Stafford (also known around these parts as "Pad Statford"). We talk a lot about a really good QB making his receivers better, but it's clear in this case with this team that it's Calvin Johnson who makes Stafford look better.

Lots of gnashing of teeth in Detroit, and the obvious answer is to can The Schvantz and bring in someone who will tutor Stafford. Who, by the way, in a local news conference said he wasn't interested in working with any QB guru, that it wasn't "his style." Hmm. Not that he has to say he wants to, but his seemed uninterested, as if he felt he was fine the way he was.

He's resembling a girl out there again today. He'll find a way to screw up.

I'm so confident in him. He looks like Jim Carey under that helmet. Those shifty eyes.

Can the Carolina Panthers somehow go to sleep on this opportunity?

I banked that they would.

but no....It's Panthers now 14 and Falcons eating their dust 10.

That TD was set up by another IMO Zebra dumb ass miss. A PI call after the ball was on the ground on a deep Cam Newton 'incomplete' pass.

My blood pressure went through the roof on that goof !

If anyone's interested, Jeremy Ross looks to be sliding back to his more usual ways. He's fair-caught two punts at the seven, with no one around him, then took one out on a kickoff from six yards deep in the end zone, and gotten all the way to the . . . fifteen.

Next chance likely will be his fumble.

Miami look bad again today.

Down to a scrappy Jets team 14-7.

If the Jets score another TD that should do it.

The Dolphins look like a hooked pike. Weak.

They don't deserve a playoff spot.

STAYS ON THE GROUND letting clock run. Ryan looking for call from sideline and finally clocks it. Penalty called, O Procedure for illegal shift on clocking play. Lose down anyway PLUS 10 second runoff.

You could be right Woodbuck. 9ers are still good on D, though not quite the stalwarts we've seen. This from a Niners reporter:
Matt Maiocco ‏@MaioccoCSN 22m

49ers allowed 755 yards passing in final two games, and Carlos Rogers' status is unclear for game vs. Packers. http://www.csnbayarea.com/49ers/rogers-leaves-game-late-hamstring-strain …

denverYooper
12-29-2013, 08:42 PM
I'm not even going to pretend like the Packers D will win them many (or any playoff games) at this point. M3 just needs to come up with plans to wind up with 1 more point than the other guys every game. That starts with dictating the game on O and trying to get one more stop on D than the other guys. And I don't think Rodgers will turn the ball over 3 times in a game the rest of the way.
