Let's stop saving the Pro Bowl

" The NFL is entirely too violent and too self-important for an all-star game that works the way all-star games are supposed to. So maybe stop trying to make the Pro Bowl be that? " Fr. LINK

KAPOLEI, Hawaii --

" The first nonconference Pro Bowl kicks off Sunday between Team Sanders and Team Rice at Aloha Stadium.

The new format has NFL players in Hawaii buzzing about going up against teammates and playing alongside men from opposite conferences. "

GO Eddie GO !

Business of Football - On the Seahawks Richard Sherman...moreso the shares of money that will be awarded to the winning side in the Pro Bowl.

http://mmqb.si.com/2014/01/23/pro-bowl-richard-sherman-business/

" Sure, there are a lot of issues with the annual Hawaii game from the fan perspective, but teams dread the game too for an entirely different reason. " Fr. LINK

Comment woodbuck27:

** Players on the losing team will make $26,000.

** Winning shares are $53,000 per player.

** The Super Bowl participants selected to the Pro Bowl will earn $39,500.

You'll have to read the full article for any tickle factor or other interest as it addresses your feelings as a Green Bay Packer and/or NFL fan.

So they quickly flashed thru the rule changes. Caught a couple - all looked stupid.

No kick offs? Why are kickers there, for the extra points? Punters could do that. - Stupid

Those uniforms, grey and white? What was wrong with red, white and blue - you know, USA! - Stupid.

If Goodell is trying to get more people to watch, this isn't the way to do it.

At least the game seems to be an actual game instead of years past.

I invite you to explain your post HowardRoark ?

Is there some subliminal message in your post?

It reminds me of days long past when after a days trout fishing. I had to work up and away from the special trout stream I used to frequent. A tad tired and my creel heavy with a limit of speckled trout. That countered with the anticipation of laying all those nice trout, spread out on the grass before my Parents and/or Grandparents approving eyes.

The intensity of this game is WAY up from what it was in previous years.

A Browns S just tried to cut off a Browns WR's legs!

The color of the uniforms is possibly some wise marketing guys idea of what might attract more females to the NFL. The gray and 'neon green' jersey looks like a bad imitation of the Seattle Seahawks uniform.

The other the same and closest... 'the Miami Dolphins uniform'.

They remind me of something from back in the early 1990's....when neon colors were all the rage and clothing.

Well the ending was fun to see.

Overall it was OK.

Final Score 22-21 The Jerry Rice team over the Dion Sanders team.

With 5 seconds remaining in the game The Ravens kicker Tucker missed (short) on a 76 yard FG.No kidding. ;-)

Game MVP... Nick Foles of Team Sanders.

MVP Defense ...Derrick Johnson of Team Rice.

If these uniforms were created to attract women this lady finds them hideous.

It was weird seeing guys from the same team playing against one another. I'd prefer they stick with conferences but I have a feeling this format is here to stay for a while. The game itself was pretty good. I had to wait a while to see Lacy get in there.

I read somewhere that supplier, Nike, wanted to pay homage to founder/Chairman Phil Knight's alma mater, U of Oregon.
