Still a few players who could really help and come cheap.

Any of those top three linebackers or safeties worth sniffing around for?

I think Clemons has been a pretty solid player. Angerer had one good year before injuries hit. He's recovering from a knee injury.

I find it rather telling Clemens is still unemployed. With the demand of decent safeties one would think he'd be signed by somebody by now...

I wonder if Sanchez would make a better back up for us than Flynn.

it seems to be a big mystery as to way clemons has been getting no attention

he's definately better then what we already have on the roster, he might even be better then burnett

shaun phillips stands out (maybe because his name is bold), but i really don't think we need yet another OLB with clay, neal, perry and peppers already there

none of the ILB's excite me, but that doesn't mean that all of them on the list wouldn't be an improvement over brad jones

Shaun Phillips stand out to me as well. Peppers and Perry could easily play DE, freeing Matthews, Neal, and Phillips at OLB.

Phillips is good, but he's old. He'll be 33, and he's not quite the freak of nature athletically that Peppers is. I think Phillips would have been a good option had we not signed Peppers, but with Matthews, Peppers, Neal, and Perry I'm not sure there's room (at his age anyways).

I think a lot of people have overrated Clemons. We're talking about a safety that has just 2 sacks, 4 interceptions, and 17 passes defensed in 5 years. He's a JAG who doesn't make any plays.

But if he's a JAG who can be in the right place and tackle somebody, too, he'd be an upgrade.

Given the level of safety play last year, a JAG is an upgrade.

Thompson would probably sign him for JAG money, but what is his asking price? Also, Hyde might be more than a JAG. I might rather find out if Hyde is the answer--rather than block his path with a JAG. Or, better yet, get somebody in the draft.

Do you guys truly think Hyde would be a good safety?

maybe

he's got some skills, but we'll never know if he can do it or not until we try him there

he can't be much worse then jennings and burnett
