-AFD- The Green Bay Packers announced today the signing of Pro Bowl receiver DeSean Jackson. There were rumors over the weekend about unknown teams interested in signing Jackson but the Packers were never mentioned. The surprising development marks a radical change in off-season activity for the usually quite Packers.

Packer's GM Ted Thompson said the signing will provide the offense with a devastating triple threat at wide receiver creating match-up nightmares for even the best defenses in the league. When asked about the reported character issues involving Jackson Thompson had this to say; "First of all DeSean has never been implicated in any serious wrongdoing. He's a good person who unfortunately has had some questionable friends from the past. We expect the environment of Green Bay will be conducive to him focusing on football. Also once inside the organization, we are certain he will embrace the Packer way, and fully respect the organization, his teammates, and the hallowed grounds of Lambeau Field. I told him that here respect will be demanded from him and respect will be given to him, and he respected that."

Details about the contract are still coming out, but it is rumored to be a 2 year 22 million dollar contract, with a signing bonus of six million, a base salary of one million in the first year and an additional million that can be earned via per game bonuses. An 8 million roster bonus due on the 3rd day of the 2015 year means that this contract could easily be a one year eight million dollar contract, with a cap hit of just 5 million this year.

Packers signed WR DeSean Jackson to a two-year contract.

JACKSON, 27, was scheduled to meet with the 49ERS on Tuesday but cancelled the visit and is signing with Green Bay becoming another weapon for Aaron Rodgers. Jackson was released late last week by the Eagles amid rumors of his gang involvement

heres a screen grab from the interview he just did on espn 2

didn't say much of anything. he's happy to sign such a large deal that allows him to hit the market again in 2 years if not sooner, so he can get another big signing bonus. he also says he thinks he'll make a-rod a much better QB, and thinks the national attention that green bay draws will be his best chance of returning to the pro bowl

NOT an April fools day joke. Jackson signs 2 year 22.4 million dollar deal with GB @pbmx

jesus christ, fuck this guy. from rotoworld

DeSean Jackson will wear #80 for Green Bay.

Jackson, who signed a 2 year 22million dollar deal with Green Bay on Tuesday, said it will be an honor to wear #80 for green bay and finally bring some class to that number. Jackson clearly was forgetting that fan favorite Donald Driver wore the number for many years. When Told that Driver wore the number, Jackson replied "who?"

This is a great signing. Much better than resigning JJones to a cheap deal. DeSean PAB Jackson should bring some serious swagger to our loser organization....can he play safety?

LOL - really? Sudbury is your hometown? Awesome. Ya, it ain't the most attractive burb out there. So you would be OK getting downed in GB flying from there, no doubt. Cali weather nicer, but other factors might make you second guess...

So that was a literal shot in the dark, eh? Too good, I thought I might've said something along the way...
