'Classless' Boston Bruins fans target Habs defenceman P.K. Subban in racial tweets

By: Catherine Lathem, CTV Ottawa ... Published Friday, May 2, 2014 5:21PM EDT

Last Updated Friday, May 2, 2014 7:21PM EDT

" The ugly side of hockey has taken a direct shot at a Canadian NHL superstar.

Montreal Canadiens defenceman, P.K. Subban, was the target of on-line racial slurs after his double-overtime winning goal in Thursday’s game against the Bruins in Boston. "

" After the game some Bruins fans took to Twitter, calling Subban the “N” word. ..." Fr. LINK immediately above

" ... One person tweeted “F***ing N***** u shouldn’t even be playing hockey”.

Another wrote, “Can’t believe we let #PKSubban score on us twice. The only thing black that should be on the ice is the puck.” ..." Fr. LINK

Comment woodbuck27:

This is horrific stuff but a reality and the other reality is all this will do is "fire Up" the likes of a P.K. Subban and all that do support this star HAB Defenseman.

Karma can be very difficult to deal with..

Racist idiots try to spoil game-winning goal by Montreal Canadiens P.K. Subban

" Happily, the better side of humanity fought back with some classic rejoinders, including this tweet displaying a potential future Boston Bruins star." ... Fr. LINK

PK Subban's younger brother Malcolm Subban. A future star Boston Bruin Goalie prospect.

" The Hockey Gods! @HockeyGods

If any Bruins fans are racist towards PK Subban during this series, direct them to this tweet. " #MalcolmSubban ... 8:11 PM - 1 May 2014

Really...how senseless is this bullshit from ignorant hockey fans!? The key word there is "ignorant".

P.K. Subban's Sensational Overtime "slapshot" Goal Vs THE Boston Bruins May. 01, 2014.

Note: Game 2 of this series and the continuation of this great hockey rivalry is scheduled for (TODAY) Sat. May 03 @ 12;30 EST.

Comment woodbuck27:

I've watched NHL hockey since 1957 and I've never seen a goal scored with a harder slap shot then this particular goal by P.K Subban. in fact both of his goals were special.

HABS defenseman P. K. Subban scored his first goal of this initial series game on an estimated 113 MPH wrist shot. That if an accurate assessment would be the hardest shot all time. You'll see this wrist shot goal at about the 41 second mark of the first LINK.

The estimated 130 MPH final OT goal slap shot at an estimated 130 mph MPH is something else again. I don't expect to ever see a harder shot. Observing it live was a thrill I'll not forget as it was indeed spectacular. The sheer power of P. K. Subban's shot was something else. The bend in his stick amazing. You'll see this slap shot OT goal @ 12:24 mark of the first LINK and it's impressive.

I can see the officials calling and looking at his stick. I've seen few things like that dramatic shot and goal in my lifetime of watching sports.

I'd compare it to seeing the USA's Bob Beamon's ... Ranked #2 ... Men's Olympic Record 8.90 m (29 ft 21⁄4 in) Broad Jump in Mexico City, Oct. 18, 1968. A broad jump record that stood until beaten by the USA's Mike Powell at 8.95 m (29 ft 4 1⁄4 in) in Tokyo on Aug. 30, 1991 and the current world record for men.

Here's that incredible broad jump by Bob Beamon. "The leap of the century":

Did any of you see this incredible broad jump "LIVE" ?

Hopefully the ugly stuff is over with. Bruins rallied with 4 3rd period goals to pull out a 5-3 win today. Love this time of year. At least 1 great hockey game on every day.

If I were betting, I would say Bruins/Blackhawks will have a rematch in the finals. Habs are playing really well though.

Price saved the Habs in Game 1. He had nearly double the shots on goal vs. Rask. He was all over the goal. What happened to Subban was a complete and utter joke. Was never a Habs fan because I always thought Montreal was a little snobbish in how they were vs rest of NHL. But after this post Game 1 crap, I'll cheer my arse off for Montreal. (was rooting for the Sharks, but they couldn't hold a 3 games to 0 lead).

The very first Pro Team I pulled for was the Boston Celtics. . . . this team and the start of an unbelievable 11 year championship run. It was easy to be a Boston Celtic fan:

http://www.nba.com/celtics/history/Championship_56_57.html

After this past weekend and very sadly I've decided to drop my beloved Boston Celtics like a hot potatoe. I'll pull for and mourn the Toronto Raptors in the future. There is simply too much sickness in the Boston fan base for me to digest.

After the Brooklyn Nets win over the Toronto Raptors by one point in the 7th and deciding game of an amazing series I'll pull for the Nets. For some time I pulled for Paul Pierce and then Kevin Garnett as Celtics as they combined to help the Celtics win a championship in 2007-08. it's not the Celtic players but too large a portion of their fan base that piss's me off.

It really sucked for me to see PK Subban's parents in the audience on Saturday in the Bruins 5-3 victory and their son get boo's every time he touched the puck. That's disgusting, pathetic sickening behaviour in my book.

I'm positive that the core of this team wouldn't approve.

A little P.K. Subban payback tonight as he led the Montreal Canadians to a 4-2 win over the Boston Bruins and a 2-1 series lead.

Subban was all over the ice scoring a goal and an assist and overall played a terrific game for full value as the games 1st STAR.

The Habs goalie Carey Price was again solid and earned the 3rd STAR.

Two more original Six Teams bang it out tonight in what should be a WAR on Ice!

The Greatest Rivalry in all of Pro Sports comes to some latest conclusion tonight as the hard to put down Montreal Canadiens play the Big Bad Bruins in Boston in the best of seven Series Final seventh elimination game.

That rink will be a zoo !

I'm posting this right now wearing my Carey Price T-Shirt and over that my Montreal Canadiens Jersey.

Ce sera un jour un peu anxiouis pour moi de temps de jeu. :-| GO HABS GO !!

Will this game six result continue? Was it ever seriously expected to go to a seventh game for les habitants Vs the Mighty Boston Bruins the were expected by most analysts to go all the way to the 2014 Stanley Cup Championship win!?

I'll admit as a die hard HABS fan I'm pleasantly surprized and then again not.

Montreal goalie Carey Price is on a tear this year. I think he's 4-0 in elimination games. Carey Price is considered by most analysts the best goaltender on the planet. He'll have to be all of that for the Canadiens to defeat the Boston Bruins who will play it as dirty as needed tonight. The Montreal Canadiens will be up against that and also very possibly officiating that may be biased against them. The Bruin fans will be rapid in this game. There will be tremendous pressure placed on the games officials to favor the home side in calls overall. The HABS have to play it as they have all series straight up ...clean....but take no crap from the dirty bruin players.

The HABS must take it to the Briuins hard and fast tonight and hit...hit...hit them .......be very physical and open with a goal...then go for it....a two goal lead. Thyey must forecheck the Bruins to distraction to win this final rubber game. They must crowd the Bruin goalie Tuukka Rask who's also extremely good in net. There's really not a lot to choose between these two goaltenders.

If you tune into this game I gurantee if your not already you may become a fan of these incredible NHL playoffs. For the most part the playoff hockey has been solid this year. The Canadiens Vs Bruins hockey has been just tremendously exciting....physical.

Who wins this final series seventh game? Honestly.... it's too close to call.

Will this continue from game six into game seven!?

http://o.canada.com/sports/nhl-playoff-boston-bruins-at-montreal-canadiens-game-6

It's a brand new time. All in the past must be forgotten. It's now tonight.

The Canadiens must skate and hit to win. The Bruins must not blow glorious scoring chances as Carey Price doesn't give up a lot. The Bruins must remain patient if they fall behind early. It's by far best if they open with the lead.

Who wins it !? Watch the game...you won't be disappointed.

It will be the first time since 1979 that three "Original Six Teams" will be involved in the East Conference Semi - Finals.

One Original Six Team the Chicago Blackhawks is in the NHL Western Conference and is going to the Western Conference Semi - Finals.

So four of the Original Six Teams are left in the Final Eight. That's so cool. :???:

Well .....that's the way it went down.

It was something to see the Bruins pay a tad frantically as the game wore on.

it appeared to me that Boston ran out of gas. Tha Montreal canadiens didn't need a lot of shots as Tuukka Rask the Bruin goalie looked a little off/nervous.

Carey Price was his usual "Cool Hand Luke'....with 29 saves as I recall it Vs 18 for Tuukka Rask in the Boston net.

STARR iof the game was IMO the entire spirit of the Montreal canadien team and the seventh man their incredibly loyal fan base.

About 21,000 of them present at the Bell Center in Montreal as their beloved HABS took "the mighty, big bad Bruins too .... out of the playoffs.

Karma is a bitch ! The Boston Bruins deserved for the Laws Of Life to take them to task for their sad/pathetic behaviour overall in this series.

Next up!

An other Original six opponent>>> The New York Rangers.

Another very exciting series I expect.

Montreal Canadians Goalie Carey Price is having a tremendous year.

He's unbeaten in five elimination games now:

His save percentage is an extremely high 0.984. Counting the Sochi Olympics and the NHL playoffs, he now sports a shiny 5-0 record when facing elimination in 2014. His goals-against average in those games is 0.40. He's cool, calm reserved/collected. He's rather unreal in terms of those results but that composure isn't and being in a zone is the secret to all of that success plus extremely dedicated and hard work.

A new goalie coach and strategy towords how to play goal helped as well.

In the two sudden death games Vs the Boston Bruins, Price stopped 56 of 57 shots.

The only shot to beat Price over the last 120 minutes of hockey was a deflection off a point shot. Almost impossible to react to considering the speed of the puck and direction deflected five feet in front of him.

Carey Price will be a New York Ranger problem.

woodbuck27
05-15-2014, 08:25 PM
What makes the Montreal Canadians tough to defeat besides Carey Price in goal?

a) This team works as a team blocking more shots then any other NHL playoff team.

They've actually increased an NHL second best ( Calgary was tops ) blocked shots per game from 8.39 to 9.37 blocked shots /game.

Getting into the shooting lanes and blocking shots helps win games. The other team gets frustrated and is forced to alter its game plan. Be creative in getting pucks (shots) to the net.

Their the bruised yet winning HABS.

woodbuck27
05-15-2014, 08:28 PM
A heads up:

Did the HABS score first in a game?

If they did then they won that game.

Montreal is undefeated when scoring the first goal in the postseason games.

They're 1-3 when having to come from behind.

What a lift ! So much can be psychological.

Scoring that first goal means going for another easier as the skates seem lighter and you skate faster.

Last seasons Norris Trophy winner as the NHL's Best Defenseman:

Peeeee Kaaaaa Suuuubbaaaaaan !

P. K. Subban.

Under all the pressure the cream rises to the top.

Through 11 games played, Subban now has four goals and eight assists to lead the Montreal Canadiens in scoring with 12 points. He has been a force. He and Carey Price lead this lone contending team from Canada. Most of a nation is behind him withal that racially prejudiced ignorant BS against this fine player.

Through it all P. K. Subban has held his head high and used the bad karma and negative adversity against him to respond as needed.

The Bruins early exit courtesy of the Montreal Canadiens is a perfect example of getting just what your team deserves. The Laws of the Universe rule in terms of karma.

Now if the HAB fans can just stop singing Na Na Na Na... Hey Hey Hey ...good bye ........so soon before a game is to end I'd be more pleased.

Please ....my fellow Montreal Canadian fans. PLEASE.

A late season acquisition by the HABS GM Marc Bergevin.

His name is defenseman Mike Weaver and get this +7 in the playoff. Just too great a move on Marc Bergevin's part.

On March 4, the Florida Panthers sent D Mike Weaver to the Canadiens for a fifth-round pick.

A fifth-round pick will more than likely never play a game in the NHL.

Weaver has been terrific for the HABS.

In other' moves:

Add the acquisition of POWER Forwards Dale Weise (4 goals) and now that he's finally on track, RW Thomas Vanek. Both of these additions can skate hard and be physical.

Vanek plays on a line with Max Pacioretty and their both contributing now so look out.

This all adds up to real hope for my beloved Montreal Canadians.

GO HABS GO !

NO. 20 .... of The New York Rangers Kris Kreider is a marked man. This goon from Boxford, MA, USA has done this low bush move before to an Ottawa Senators goalie and he must pay the price.

If I'm coaching the HABS I'm instructing one man each period to lick the snot out of this idiot for taking Carey Price out and it wasn't an accident. I'd make sure he never did this again or realize the possible consequences. There isn't enough evidence to fine him I don't believe but he did it on purpose.

What a pathetic way to beat another tem. Fuck em the HABS will play harder now.

The Montreal Canadiens must retaliate...get vengence. It will be interesting to see how that's accomplished.

Stay tuned or watch game two of the series at the BELL Center in Montreal and HAB fans will be rapid. They'll want their pound of meat.

I wouldn't want to be Mr. Kris Kreider and if I'm coaching him his series is over....for his good health I'm benching him.

OK so now the HABS are down 0-2 to the New York Rangers and their very hot goalie Henrik Lundqvist. This man has been sensational through the opening two games in Montreal.

The Canadiens aren't exactly out of it yet. All season long this team has responded to adversity but a hot goalie isn't something easy to overcome. The HABS must simply play like they did in game two and maybe they'll get the right bounces.

Game two of the Chicago Blackhawks and Los Angelas Kings Western Conference Final Series is on tonight with the Blackhawks up one zip over the Kings.

In game one the Chicago Blackhawks solved the Kings big line with the Jonathan Toews line shuting down the Andre Kopitar line. We'll see if the LA bench boss can counter that tonight.

Good luck to both teams and their fans.

That was an intriguing game last night in MSG.

The way both teams felt out the other. The way the HABS new goalie hope played...and that nothing short of tremendously in a 35 save performance.

Martin St. Louis may have had nighmares and this kids saves on him on the glove side last night. On two occasions it appeared that St. Louis had sure markers. Nope...denied by the kid who's 'only' won at every level of hockey he's played. As I see it this young man is the story and this series now and his impending ongoing duel with the Rangers goalie Henrick Lundqvist.

How soon Carey Price and his injury is set on the back burner. The latest new NHL Rock Star may indeed become one Dustin Tokarski. Suddenly the Rangers amazing goalie Henrick "The King" Lundqvist finds himself in a goalie duel again; when many had written the Canadians off without NO. 1 goalie Carey Price.

" New York Rangers forward Daniel Carcillo was suspended 10 games by the NHL on Friday for making physical contact with an official.

Carcillo was tossed from Game 3 of the Eastern Conference finals against the Montreal Canadiens on Thursday night for elbowing linesman Steve Driscoll, who was trying to keep Carcillo from post-whistle activity involving Brandon Prust. Moments earlier, Prust injured the Rangers' Derek Stepan with a crunching open-ice check.

Prust also was suspended Friday, receiving a two-game ban for the hit on Stepan. No penalty was called on the play."

OK we are about to get going in the sudden death game at the Bell Center for the Montreal Canadiens. Theyn simply need to win three straight to make it to the SWtanley Cup Final Series.

The HAB fans amongst "the BEST Pro Team fans today are into this one.

The HABS need to play like hell tonight and improve on the Power lay or it might end with this game.

Great P. K. Subban just shot the puck and Alex Galchenyuk from the state of Wisconsin just opened the scoring.

Personal life[edit]

(Alex) Galchenyuk was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to former Soviet and Belarusian hockey player Alexander Galchenyuk, and a Belarusian mother. Galchenyuk's father was a member of the IHL's Milwaukee Admirals at the time of his birth. [12] They moved to Europe when Galchenyuk was four, following his father's hockey career in Germany, Italy, and Russia. They settled in Russia where Galchenyuk began his hockey career before moving back to North America when Galchenyuk was 15, first to Chicago and then to Sarnia where Alex Galchenyuk Sr coaches.

http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/hockey/blackhawks/

The Kings down by one after the first period find themselves up by one after two.

it's Ohh Ohh time for the Chicago Blackhawks.

Time for players like Patrick Kane and Marian Hossa, Brent Seabrook and Duncan Keith to step it up. It's all or nothing now. Time to throw it all out there.

Hawks goalie Corey Crawford has to play better.

There early in the 3rd period the Blackhawks score one and it's all tied at four.

I'd love to see the Chicago Blackhawks and Montreal Canadiens in the Stanley cup Final.

" The New York Rangers are going to the 2014 Stanley Cup Final after a fantastic all-around effort in defeating the Montreal Canadiens 1-0 in Game 6.

That score might honestly be a little misleading. The Rangers limited the Canadiens to 18 shots on goal, including just five apiece in the first and third period. My heart says Blackhawks can win tonight. My head says Kings will win. Blackhawks are only 2-6 on the road in the playoffs this year. Neither goaltender in this series has been great, but Quick has been a little better. I think Crawford needs to play tonight the way he played in games 5&6 against Minnesota for the Blackhawks to win.

" The defending champion Chicago Blackhawks' best strategy for taking down the Los Angeles Kings in Sunday's Game 7 (8 p.m. ET, NBC Sports Network) might simply be to know thyself.

When the Blackhawks analyze the Kings, it is like looking in the mirror. "

This game seven tonight is a good one.

I pre-recorded it to watch at my leisure and right now it's 4-3 Blackhawks after Patrick Sharp's second goal of this game.

The Chicago Blackhawks have been waiting for him to finally get it done this series. Patrick Sharp had a solid regular season with 34 goals and 44 assists for 78 Pts.

There's under 15 mins. remaining in the third period.

It's back and forth; good game. I'm impressed with the play of Brandon Saad.

He had 19 G and 28 A = 47 Pts in 78 games in the regular season. He's playing like a Super Star in the playoff's.

woodbuck27
06-01-2014, 11:34 PM
OK I have it now through 3 periods and going to Overtime.

It's too OT 4-4 and late in that third period LA goalie Quick made sensational saves to save the KINGS bacon. Actually both goaltenders are playing solid games. There have been some weird goals that they had little chance on.

woodbuck27
06-02-2014, 12:02 AM
Another weird goal ends it and the LA Kings win in OT 5-4. The shot goes through from the point and Defenseman Alec Martinez gets credit for the series winner and doesn't get a game star.

I feel bad for the Chicago fans. They looked stunned at the end.

A very great series where it's hard to see one team lose. Yet that's the facts baby.

So the Stanley Cup final begins Wednesday night May 04, 2014.

It's the New York Rangers @ Los Angeles Kings.

Hall of Famer Guy Lafleur told the French-language newspaper La Presse that it looked “as if everyone had given up” in the series-deciding 1-0 loss to the New York Rangers in Game 6.

He then directed his venom at two of the team’s veteran forwards.

“Guys like [Thomas] Vanek and [Max] Pacioretty, you can not keep them on your team,” he continued. “They should stay home if they are not willing to pay the price. Your team will never win with players that fade when there is adversity.”

Guy Lafleur says Montreal Canadiens will never win with Max Pacioretty

Montreal Canadiens | Comments

Good for Guy.

Lafleur toss's two weak playoff producers under the bus; calling it as he needed to. As a former Montreal Canadien SUPER STAR...Guy Lafleur has the credentials to speak boldly and honestly.

For the best part of the playoffs Max Pacioretty wasn't pressing as he was required to; based on his regular season results. I believe he was trying and give him a bare pass.

Thomas Vanek was in most games and by far best described as .....invisible.

These two were expected to step up and instead let the entire team down. As a long time HAB fan I was sick at their weak play but Thomas Vanek sucked terribly.

If you can't get psyched and totally focused on playing your very best in the playoffs your as good as useless flesh. You must raise your game to a higher intensity in the playoffs as your opponent certainly will. They let their coach (Michel Therrien) down as he counted on them to produce much much more.

Thomas Vanek's short term in Montreal is over. He's done as a HAB.

Gone...History ! Count on that as Thomas Vanek embarrassed himself before arguably the best and most knowledgeable fans in hockey. He let the entire fan base of the Canadiens down terribly.

I hope that Max Pacioretty went to school in these playoffs and he has the sense to realize he failed and must do so much more in the future. If he plays like he did in the regular season the HABS are in the Stanley Cup Final.

Comment woodbuck27:

Sometimes the saying "Same Ole - Same Ole" may be translated to mean "a little vanilla".

Well this time RE: the Opening game of the Stanley Cup final that saying means something all together different. "Same Ole - Same Ole" means that ...the first game produced results that are "something else" again.

Again... refers to "the what" and another one goal victory and another OT game result in terms of the LA Kings OT 3-2 victory. That was a phenomenol 24th OT game result.I've never seen such evidence of parity before in the playoffs.

These Stanley Cup playoffs have been great to watch. These Stanley Cup playoffs have been A-! entertainment.

Again... refers to "the who" and Mr. Game Seven and NO. 14 LA Kings Forward Justin Williams. He did it again with a one goal and one assist effort and that goal scored for the Los Angeles Kings to secure the important opening game of the series victory in Overtime. That win was especially important on home ice. A win for the LA King fans.

June 4, 2014, 8:39 PM

" It wasn’t Game 7, but it will do for the Kings' Justin Williams.

Williams flicked a shot 4 minutes 36 seconds into overtime past goaltender Henrik Lundqvist to give the Kings a 3-2 victory over the New York Rangers in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final at Staples Center on Wednesday night. Game 2 will be Saturday at Staples Center. " Fr. LINK above.

Stanley Cup Final

Kings vs. Rangers Isn’t a Huge Mismatch

12:46 PM ...Jun 5

By: Neil Paine

" The most accurate and unbiased predictor of a given sporting event is usually the Las Vegas betting line, not a pundit. And according to Vegas, the Kings did not enter the series a markedly dominant favorite relative to other pre-series Stanley Cup front-runners."

Comment woodbuck27:

The Stanley cup Finals shifts it's focus back to the New Your Rangers home... Madison Square Garden (MSG).

The Rangers have played very decently in two overtime loss's in Los Angeles. In both of those games they opened with a 2 to nil lead. The LA Kings showed the grit that we are becoming accustomed to observing and managed to fight back to win.

I observed this analyst on an American network predicting that if the LA Kings managed to win the second game of the series and go up 2 zip; then the New York Rangers wouldn't return to Los Angeles in this Stanley Cup Final.

I promptly left that channel to find some Canadian coverage. :-)

Fact:

" In the NHL, a home team will beat an evenly matched road opponent about 55 percent of the time. "

In my world...that "fact" predicts a return game in Los Angeles between the Rangers and Kings.

I want to see a seventh game for many reasons; yet mostly because as these 2014 playoffs have been special or very good close games. We've now been treated to 25 overtime game results in these playoffs.

That's wild and in terms of excitement and hockey... G R E A T ! :-)

Still the high powered LA Kings are going to bring a lot to MSG tonight and try to take advantage all the pressure on a back against the wall New York Rangers team. The Rangers must have a complete two way game going tonight for an entire 60 minutes to get it done.

My prediction:

The New York Rangers goalie Henrick Lundqvist stands on his head tonight Vs the LA Kings might and saves the Rangers bacon :

A Rangers win by a single goal margin and a 4-3 score.

New York Rangers unhappy about non-call on Dwight King’s goal in Game 2 loss to Los Angeles Kings

Neil Davidson, Canadian Press | June 8, 2014 1:19 PM ET

" The New York Rangers returned home Sunday with a bad taste in their mouth.

Unable to hold a two-goal lead on three occasions in their 5-4 overtime loss to the Kings, the Rangers had plenty to rue in Game 2 of the Stanley Cup final at Staples Center on Saturday night.

But they were especially upset at a non-call early in the third period when Dwight King scored to pull the Kings to within one at 4-3." Fr. LINK

Looking like the Kings will get 2 put of 3 Cups. I think the series with the Blackhawks was the real Stanley Cup Finals.

I'm now beginning to think, after reflecting on that huge game three LA Kings shutout of the NY Rangers in a building (MSG) where the Rangers have come through over and over and that again this season.

That .... that analyst that didn't make a lot of sense to me after game two is looking like a talented predictor.

The New York Rangers looked really bad inspite of all the shots they had or is it that Mr. Quick is just so huge in the LA Kings net !? I believe I heard that Quick had a 0.970 save percentage entering game three of these Stanley Cup Finals. Then he shuts out the Rangers! This man is playing "lights out great" as the Los Angelas Goalie.

I don't believe I've ever seen better goaltending in the playoffs. I'll check that out:

New York Rangers vs. L.A. Kings: Previewing Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Finals

June 9, 2014 11:37 pm EDT by Casey Drottar

" Coming into the Stanley Cup Finals, a lot of people were of the firm belief that we were about to see a back-and-forth battle between the New York Rangers and Los Angeles Kings. As of tonight, a lot of people are wrong.

After two dramatic overtime wins, the Kings decided there was no need for theatrics in Game 3, convincingly beating New York 3-0. The score of tonight’s game now reflects the series, as L.A. is up 3-0 over the Rangers. What many thought would be an evenly matched contest is now looking like it’s over just three bouts in. " Fr. Rangers focused solely on winning Game 4 vs. Kings

Tuesday, 06.10.2014 / 3:57 PM / Kings vs Rangers - 2014 Stanley Cup Final

By: Tal Pinchevsky - NHL.com Staff Writer

Comment woodbuck27:

That's a proper focus.

It's time for the Rangers top four players to come out of their "zero Points collectively" slump and contribute tonight.

Martin St. Louis, Derek Stepan, Rick Nash and Brad Richards have been held off the score sheet through three games.

Getting it done or finishing off an opponent in the Stanley Cup Finals isn't an east task and that's where were at right now.

The New York Rangers did manage to return the series to Los Angeles.

With 14 minutes remaining in the third period, the Rangers lead the Kings 2-1, scoring 2 unanswered goals in the second period including the go ahead marker with less than a minute remaining in the period.

Marian Gaborik just scored his 14th goal of these playoffs to knot the score at two.

There's about 10 minutes remaining in the third period.

The Los Angeles fans are into it again and hopeful that their Kings will get it done tonight.

....It had to come to this again for what? .... the 26th time in these playoffs.

OVERTIME again and the LA Kings under pressure in their end just took a penalty and the Rangers go to their power play. They already have one power play goal.

Hang on !

No nothing there although the the rangers had splendid opportunities especially defenseman McDonough. 8 mins into OT the play is furious back and forth action.

This is as it's been throughout the playoffs ...GREAT hockey and now

9:51 remains in the first OT period.

Their now into the second Overtime period and Mae is going nuts with all the excitement. Mae is a furious hockey fan. She's seriously intense....a real hoot.

The Rangers just went on another power play. Damn they just hit another goal post and are doing everything but put this game away....send it back home to new York.

I hope the Rangers win as this is as good as it gets for hockey. The King fans are totally into it now.

If their team loses it will be heartbreak in Los Angeles tonight. The Rangers sure have some fight in them.

Lord Steve Nash missed an open net...a game winning goal slips by.

Stay tuned. There's 10:30 remaining in this 2nd OT period.

Well it's finally over as LA Kings Defenseman Alex Martinez scores another big game winner to win it all for his team the Los Angeles Kings.

The Stanley Cup belongs to the Los Angeles KINGS for the second time in three seasons. The 121st Stanley Cup winner.

That was absolutely breathtaking overtime play; a goal just ended the best playoffs I can ever recall experiencing.

Kings forward Justin Williams wins the Conn Smythe Trophy as the Playoffs MVP.

The Los Angeles KINGS Win the Stanley Cup with a Double Overtime Winning Goal by Defenseman Alex Martinez In Victory over the New York Rangers in Game Five

6/14/2014 9:26:16 AM

LOS ANGELES --

" The Los Angeles Kings won the Stanley Cup the hard way, ending their marathon playoff run with a double overtime thriller.

A post-season that started with the Kings having to dig themselves out of a three-game hole against San Jose ended Friday night in a 3-2 double-overtime triumph over the New York Rangers to seal their second Cup in three seasons.

The final lasted five games, with three going to overtime -- including two double OT contests. It was the only playoff series that didn't go the distance for the Kings. " Fr. LINK
