On Ted Thompson recently being under the weather and seeming very tired pre-draft:

“The guy is still on his game. My god, he’s one of the top 5 general managers in the National Football League,” Dorsey continued. “And that’s the only thing the Packer Nation should be concerned about: Is the ship headed in the right direction? And I say yes. If the rudder was off a little bit, I’d tell you it was off.

“Actually, I wouldn’t tell you. I’d go to Ted and say, ‘Your rudder’s not straight, dude.’ I haven’t done that, because I haven’t had to. If he had intellectually slipped, I would say, “Dude, you’re slipping.’ I can tell him that because he and I talk like that. That’s what our relationship is.

“You guys are making a mountain out of a molehill.”

Fire away dude, I mean John.

If you saw yesterday's PC the White Wizard looked in good spirits and joked with the media folk - well, as jovial as he can be. ;-)

Hard to think of Ted as having been an athlete, as I know him only as the grizzled old polar bear.

That picture is from SMU. His pro playing weight was listed as 220.

I hadn't realized that TT was somewhat under the weather or ill...before the draft. He often looks stiff to me...nervous. He's had moments when he appears just fine and candid.

His performance in the draft overall appears to be very solid to me. If he was ill leading to that he deserves all the more credit.

Members here don't know mwe RE: TT.

I just want the best 24-7.... every week and month from TT.

Man, he had those weird, incapable-of-looking-directly-at-anyone-or-anything eyes, even back then. It's unnerving.

As for John Dorsey telling him his rudder's not straight, I thought that was a euphemism for a leaning or curved penis. I'm guessing that's not what Dorsey meant, though.

On a more serious note, the general perception in Detroit is that Green Bay - its front office and especially the scouting department - is run by "professionals," unlike, of course, the Lions' organization.

You know the thing about Ted Thompson, he's got...lifeless eyes, black eyes, like a doll's eye. When he comes at ya, doesn't seem to be livin'. Until he bites ya and those black eyes roll over white.

Maybe "JustJeff" can give us a ruling on this
