Pretty bad choice. I've been to games in Minnesota and there is not a whole lot to do. Plus the weather sucks. I'd rather go to New Orleans if I was going to the Super Bowl.

and...what if there are more stadium delays? Seems chancy.

I hope we represent the NFC and win that SB in their house!

This is all about rewarding Minnesota for putting up a lot of taxpayer money to help build a new stadium.

Just set up camp near the happy Gnome or Surly and call it good.

Oh Jesus! What an idea, an SB ice fishing derby! Can you see Mayweather and Robin Thicke out there?

And as the cherry on top, none of the local taxpayers will be able to attend.

That's good that an NFCN team was awarded this opportunity.

I wish it was the Green Bay Packers and Lambeau though.

Does that make Packer fans Tusken Raiders?

The stadium should be done for the 2016-17 season, so that would have to be a hell of a delay to have it not ready.

Is the city building it? Sometimes they take longer than 2 1/2 years to fill a pothole.

The Vikes have to play the next 2 seasons in the Gophers stadium that only holds about 52k (even after the Vikes pay for more seating) which is about 13k lower than the new stadium. The Vikes oweners want this thing done in a hurry and start reaping the $ benefits. It would take a huge issue or event to not have this thing ready in 2016. The Wilfs will lose too much $ if it's not.

Fast, good, or cheap. Pick 1.

That is not be feasible at the moment. The area doesn't have the infrastructure or the lodging required.

It will be done. They have one part of it started while they are still clearing away the rubble from the other side. Lots of construction activity...and lots of money involved.

The Vikings are motivated to get it done.

The TCF Bank stadium (Gophers play there) isn't big/fancy enough for pro games to some people, plus it's outdoors. Watching the Vikings play outside in January doesn't sound like a lot of fun to me, and I'm not sure it will be for the players either. They used to play outside in the Met, but the schedule wasn't stretched into Jan/Feb like it is now.

Goodell gave it to Minny because it will be in a shiny new stadium that they can show off to the world, and they can't always play in Nawlins.

Ya, it should be ready, there's really no reason it wouldn't be. But

Not saying, just saying.

The whole process up until now has been so messed up, why would that change?

What does "VLAD 502" mean?

I spent many a good weekend here watching the Expos traveling up to Montreal from Saint John, NB. I loved the baseball atmosphere in this joint. many times I thought watching baseball here:

It just doesn't get much better than this.

Often I stayed at the Hyatt Regency Montreal and to leave the room and go down past super shopping into the Metro and travel to the Olympic Stadium and never take a step out of doors was amazing to me.

When the Expos were moved from Montreal to Washington DC like so many loyal Expo fans that broke my baseball heart. MLB has never been the same even though I followed the rest of Vladimir Guerrero's career.

http://blogs.montrealgazette.com/2013/08/16/former-expo-rogers-relives-blue-monday/

I was there to witness this sad for Expo fans moment. I saw the whole series and when the Expos one the opening game Friday night it was bedlam in the great city of Montreal. It took me and my buds two hours to exit the stadium after the huge win and game was over.

Ohh what a party ensued in Montreal. The Montreal Canadians or Alouettes never sparked such a huge celebration according to many sources this was the greatest night ever in Montreal.

It was pretty wide.

 That was just ......... game one.
