Back on topic - Johnny Manziel y'know, it's right in the title.

Hoyer had another stinker yesterday. Defense scored 14, and the Colts scored 25. Hoyer managed to complete less than 50% of his passes. Wonder what's wrong with him? Is it just a matter of there being too much film on him, and DCs are exploiting his limitations? He was never going to be a franchise QB, but he seems to have turned into Kyle Orton-like turnover machine, without the completions to go with them!

All this is leading, of course, to calls for Manziel, and focus on his extra-curricular activities, such as his attendance at a Cavs game Tuesday night.

Sonny Jurgensen told @kevins980 on pregame show about conversation with Dan Snyder in which Snyder said @RGIII is only 24 and needs a chance

Really, I have been too hard on Snyder. I hope he keeps bumbling his way, overlooking answers for many long years.

Wonder about Gruden here though. Forget that he might be forced to bail due to public spat, you were never going to win long term security with McCoy or Cousins. Does he cary enough weight to bench RGIII and publicly cover what the kid needs to do to regain his starting job? Put the onus back on the kid, which he probably needs to have done.

Parcells could. But could a 2nd year coach do it?

Hey Cleveland, maybe it wasn't all the QB's fault.

People watching the Browns closely knew it wasn't. It was the return of Josh Gordon and injuries to WRs that hurt the offense the most. Word is there was pressure from above to start Manzier. The double effect is to increase the suckitude of the team, and have the team lose respect for the coach, because they know he isn't in charge. If you're the coach, you say "I make the decisions for Sunday, or you can fire me."

When the Browns hammered Cincy I thought mebbe they had turned it around, but now way.

their fall from those heights was meteoric. But it all centered on losing their center. That was the beginning of the end. The shock waves were small at first, but then some other injuries crept in and the offense couldn't do a thing. Josh Gordon returning also hurt the team chemistry. Having personality issues with the RB Tate also upset the locker room. It's amazing how team unity can get disrupted by just a handful of things, not necessarily huge individually, all going wrong, and all at once.

Manziel questions fairness of Browns looking elsewhere for a quarterback

Posted by Mike Florio on December 24, 2014, 12:13 AM EST

Does he actually think pro sports are about "fairness"? He's dumber than I thought.
If a team has a need, it follows it's own path to solve it. If they find someone to supplant Manziel, will it be any less fair to him than Seattle was to Flynn?

The team is obligated to pay him consistent with the terms of his contract. Beyond that, he is entitled to nothing.

Lol! Life has been unfair in that punks favor his entire life and now he's railing against the injustice inherent in the system? The irony is beautiful.

IMO he's like a fly on the wall.

He's very likely going to washed off.

Doesn't look like he has learned much about being a professional. Now it is reported that he was fined for being late for a rehab treatment.

Supposedly the Browns want to go after Suh.

But why would he go there? Suh's agent will use Cleveland to drive up the price. The Brownies will be used like a high school skank.

I simply hope he'll go somewhere out of the NFCN.

Containing him today will be a key to the Packers hope for the NFCN Title and the NFC NO. 2 Seed.

It might be the one place where he could join the team and NOT be even the second most repulsive player on the roster?

This kid has a problem. There is always a built in resentment between the injured guys and active players. One group has to get their asses kicked while the others sit on the sidelines. It's not fair, but those hard feeling are there.

Nobody wants to go to rehab. But everybody has to do it. Now this boy shows up late to rehab? After they had to run him down to get him to rehab? Believe me, this causes major hard feelings. The boys also know how valid his statements on turning things around was.

Not only is he behind the 8-ball, it wouldn't shock me to see somebody kick his ass. His tenure with the Browns is code blue, the only thing keeping him around is that rookie deal. After next season, he is cuttable. They will carry him one more year for the cap, but after that?

I doubt it.

I don't wish for failure for any person. Some people just cannot get out of their own way. Some are simply handicapped.

I simply believe he's got issues that for the most part may be corrected except for the one he cannot correct ... his size.

It can't bode well for Johnny Manziel that his new OC didn't feel compelled to study his film before taking the job: Mary Kay Cabot

" CLEVELAND, Ohio -- It can't bode well for Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel that his new offensive coordinator, John DeFilippo, didn't study Manziel's film before taking the job.

It's highly unusual for a candidate not to dig into the film of the potential starting quarterback before accepting a position, one NFL coordinator told Northeast Media Group."

The really unfortunate thing about this is the sense of smugness that will emanate from Skip Bayless for the next 12 years over this issue.

Let's be honest, Bayless would just find a way to spin it in his favor and be smug about that.

True. If Johnny was actually a teetotaler drinking ice tea, Bayless would spin it as a reaction to his alcoholic tendencies.
