OK th second set has been inyeresting. Canada's Eugenia bouchard was broken and broke back to tie it at 5-6 and sharapova just won the 11th game to set it at 6-5 Sharapova.....watching.....

Sharapova battles and wins back to back games to win set two 7-5.

This match is very good. That second set was a terrific battle and took 59 minutes.

Sharapova is one of the very best third set women's players in history.

Bouchard has to really want it now. I felt that she had that second set in hand after a solid struggle to get back and let it slip away.

Hang on !

Womens tennis is being well served today.

Here we go into set NO. 3.

Sharapova as expected, wins game NO. 1 of the third set.

Bouchard responds with a win in game two for a 1-1 tie in the final set.

Well it's over and Canada's hopes for Ms. Eugenia Bouchard weren't entirely disappointed as she battled hard against a formidable opponent in Maria Sharapova.

it looked to me like Eugenie "Genie' Bouchard had to get it done in set two after an opening set win. She brought that back to her and 5-5 but after that it was pretty much all Maria Sharapova.

So the fastest rising young star in womens tennis in my opinion took a step forward today. She'll be back if she works harder on her conditioning and not trying to be too formidable in terms of line and corner shots when she has won a point easily and just needs to drop it into the open court.

Watching this match brought back to me days long past and being a competitive tennis player in the Mississauga Tennis club. My men's doubles partner Bert Shayane and I were never defeated in a match. Work and family responsibilities never allowed us to turn Pro.

One can sometimes "only' wonder about the decisions of our youth. Also "one" should never seriously look back.

We paint our lives a certain shade and that's a painting among many finished. :???: Nope !

I suspect that Eugenie Bouchard can change much and win big on the Pro Women's Tennis Tour. She simply nneds great guidance in terms of mentor coaching and I saw lots that can improve her based on her results today. I trust that her coac saw the same and can get inside of her fighting spirit and personality. That gal expects to win now.

No great wine... before it's time. :-)
