Also, the feeling is that the Broncos are trying to become more like the Seahawks on the DL, favoring smaller and faster.

The cutting of Jumal Rolle does surprize me, as his being cut by the Buffalo Bills surprized some last season as well...ie The Packers Joe Whitt.

CB Jumal Rolle had an impressive Pre-Season for the Packers. I just read an article on JSO that confirms that feeling after imptressive exhibition outings Vs Oakland and KC and Green Bay Packer Pre-season wins.

I suspect tha he'll be picked up for a tryout elsewhere and thus not get stuffed on the Packers PS.

Bradford and Thornton were not getting cut because they are TT's draft picks and he trusts in his scouts and figures to give them a year to develop. Both had to grade out well worse than guys who were cut.
I can only recall one pick from rounds one to four cut by TT and that was a Captain obvious pick of disaster from day one. Dude could not even catch a punt and they drafted him to be a specialist

Taylor is so much better on Specials so he makes the team annually when many think he might be gone

Don't know how TT, MM, and Dunderdummy couldn't see that he was a much better fit at ILB all along - seriously, my 4 year old daughter is taller, and 2 year old son has longer arms... no way was Bradford ever going to be able to make it at OLB or DE, he simply doesn't doesn't have physical attributes.

They overdrafted him, then stubbornly refused to admit that he wasn't an edge player - I'm guessing they kept him to keep from admitting they were wrong from the start with this guy. His only place in the NFL is at ILB - which is what I said the second they drafted him... as the old saying goes - Stevie Wonder could see that.

Seems like nonsense to me. Unless you think he'd make such a great inside linebacker that he'd displace our starters and make an impact as a rookie, its not a wasted camp. You get a productive college DE who jumped 37.5" and give him every chance to be something as an edge rusher. The fact that he could be an ILB is simply a nice plan B a la Brad Jones, Terrell Manning, and Jamari Lattimore. It's a sound strategy. In the meantime, he worked with the same coach as the ILB (Winston Moss is now in charge of both now) and is so far from action on either depth chart that its special teams that matters anyways.

Pat Angerer was cut by the Falcons. He was the leading tackler as the MLB for a lot of terrible Colts defenses. He's only 27 now and we've had good luck with our Iowa products.

The Bengals cut some well knowns including : the Law firm, armchair GM signing Daniel Manning, 250lb 4.40 runner Dontay Moch, and Jerrell Worthy alternate Devon Still.

The Chiefs cut former Bears deep cover saboteur J'Marcus Webb

In keeping with the theme of standouts from an elite Stanford defense getting cut from defensive systems similar to ours, LBs Shayne Skov and Chase Thomas were cut by the 49ers. Trent Murphy must be really good to make all these guys look like NFL players.

Always liked Angerer. Good name for a backer, blue collar guy who always kept plugging. After all these years at Mike for Indy, he could probably use the rest.

I am a little surprised. Early in camp I did a little research, and he was getting good press, like the following:


"The easy things are all the recognizables right away, that he's 6-foot-2 and a half, 215 pounds," Browns general manager Ray Farmer told reporters on Sunday. "He ran a 4.38 40 (yard dash). Those are the easy pieces, but when you watch the tape you like his hands. CJ is a mixed bag. Some good, some bizarre. I've known of him for years. He's from Elsmere KY & played at Erlanger LLoyd. Their field is 100 ft from my Mother-in-law's lawn. He was KY's #1 recruit coming out of HS. Big battle between U of Lou & Univ of KY to sign him. Louisville wins. Johnson has to go to college prep classes so he can start with his class and play ball with the Cards. When late August rolls around, the coaches discover he hadn't attended a class or cracked book 1. UL bounced him from their program and he xferred to Eastern KY in Richmond. Within a month, there was a dispute over stolen laptops and he was bounced from his second college pgm. Then he went to a SoCal JC and fucked that up. His next move was a small JC around here. People tell me he didn't finish that one. Eventually, he wound up at Grand Valley Ste down in Texas. He's got 3 kids and a JCal degree of sorts. He's big, scary fast and just learning how to run pass routes. If he'd bear down and learn his NFL job, he might make it. He's supposed to be a great kid, but a total air head.

Wish him the best, but I doubt he makes it. Too bad, he's got an NFL body, just not the mindset.

He just worked around here for a time, no school or football. So he falls off the map for awhile. He's got 3 kids and I've heard maybe some more, so he's got incentive to earn a paycheck.
