View Full Version : A Report From Enemy Territory

According to reports, nut case Brandon Marshall got into a major calling out of Jay Cutler in the Bears lockeroom following their loss to Miami. L ots of screaming. In addition, Kyle Long publically called out Bears fans for daring to boo.
If you have ever listened to Coach Marc Trestman, you can't help but notice that he is uber-touchy-feely with his team : in effect, he has allowed Marshall - and others - to do whatever they want.
The upshot : Trestman is quickly losing control of his dysfunctional team.
Rather good news for us.

Didn't anybody tell Kyle Long that booing the Bears offense is just something Bears fans do? Growing up in Illinois, we used to laugh at how quickly Bears fans would turn against the offense. Of course, it was kind of funny this year how people fell for the talk that Cutler was somehow going to become an elite QB this year. As if being overpaid would improve his performance.

Life is good.

Any player that bitches at fans for booing can go shove it. We pay exorbitant amounts of money to attend a game that you play and our interest in you and the NFL is the only reason you have a job. If you don't want to be booed, then play better.

Marshall curiously left out quarterback Jay Cutler’s name twice when listing players, only lending more credence to a report that his postgame ire was directed at No. 6.

‘‘Same mistakes, same mistakes,’’ Marshall said when asked what the Dolphins did to slow the Bears’ offense. ‘‘We’ve got to protect the football. We’ve got to protect the football. We’ve got to execute the game plan. We’ve got to adjust when things don’t go as we saw on film.

‘‘We’ve got Alshon Jeffery, Martellus Bennett, Matt Forte. We’ve got a stud offensive line. We’ve got a great, great group of guys. And this is unacceptable. What did we put up, 14 points? Was it 14 points? That’s unacceptable.’’.

Much ado about nothing.

Marshall probably was just releasing some anger/frustration. Better to be passionate than jacking off happily like the Washington Redcoats did after their loss to the Seagulls.

That said, I am glad "da" Bears lost. :)

Crap, the Bears fans are better at dissing the Bears than we are. We need to step up our game, come next Bear week.

can't stand marshall. he's a major reason 'inside the nfl' is unwatchable now. they shouldn't have a rostered player on the show as a permanent co-host.

His press conference today was more goobledy gook about 'accountability', 'compliance' and the good practices they had last week. Sports radio hosts & call in fans are livid - mostly because none of the coaches lost their jobs.

It says something when the headline for the major local paper (Tribune) is that no coaches were fired.

Mostly it says the Bears are so bad that firing everybody and replacing them with arena players and coaches would be an upgrade.

Honestly, I hope they turn things around, especially since they play Detroit twice.

This is a team that played better when their franchise qb got injured and his backup came in. They then let the backup go and sign cutler to a huge extension

Just fucking dumb. Its like the whole franchise is in denile

Letting McCown go was a mistake, but the defense is beyond pathetic. What is the Bear O going to do to win that game? Not a damn thing.

50 points given up in 2 straight games. That's actually really hard to do in the NFL. It only happened once before, by the 1923 Rochester Jeffersons, a team in the second of four straight winless seasons, and who were outscored 141-6 in 4 games that year. They gave up 60 points to the Chicago Cardinals (a pretty good team that year, but their next highest scoring game was 22pts) and followed it with a 56-0 loss to Rock Island, a team that didn't crack double digits in any other game that year (2-3-3 record).

That is the company the Bears are keeping. It is unlikely that they will make it 3 in a row given they are at home against the Vikings.

Yep. They should have kept McCown and drafted Bridgewater or Derek Carr. Glad they didn't.

McCown had some kinda injury issue but was back starting this week. Lovie seems to prefer him to the youngster.

McCown was not very good before he got hurt.

It did seem brutal but I read a writeup where they thought he was getting killed for issues that weren't entirely his own. Haven't seen them, so don't know. Jist of article was that its McCown going forward, good bad or indifferent.

Joemailman
11-11-2014, 09:58 AM
Th real issue is not whether McCown is good. The issue is that he's probably as effective, though not as talented, as Cutler, but could have been signed for a small fraction of what they're paying Cutler.

All Josh McCown did last year was make the Bears better. Jay Cutler simply cannot get it done as a top flight NFL QB. The Bears have serious need at QB and on the 'D'.

Josh McCown will get a second consecutive start Vs the Skins in Week 11. He was a decent 27 - 43 for 301 yards 2 TD's and 2 Picks in Week Ten Vs the Falcons.

Mel Tucker said he 'keeps telling his defense what to do - but they don't do it'.

He also said no changes will be made to the lineup

If you're telling the players what to do, and they arent doing it, and getting their asses handed to them in the proccess, then maybe things should change

It's the ancient coaches lament...

"I coached 'em great, but those bastards screwed everything up and played like shit."

It sounds hilarious when somebody says it, but every coach from Lombardi to Parcells thinks it at one time or another.
