There have been a number of disturbing comments recently about our swarthy friends and neighbors. "Brown men can't cover." English in night school. etc.

It's time to push back. Some notable NFL QBs:

Marc Bulger
Jeff Garcia
Joe Kapp
J. P. Losman
Moses Moreno
Jim Plunkett
Tony Romo
Mark Sanchez

8 brothers kicked in Division I College football. Four made it to NFL:
Tony - Houston Oilers, Los Angeles Rams, Atlanta Falcons, San Francisco 49ers
Max - Washington Redskins, Green Bay Packers
Louis - Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles
Joaquín - New England Patriots

Tony was the all-pro. They were born in México City or Curimeo

(Although Gonzalez is not actually of Mexican heritage, he frequently vacationed there.)

Ya, but the old upper class in Mexico is Spanish ancestry too. Plus a lot of Germans settled there, that's why you hear that polka sound in a lot of mexican music. Who knows what "mexican" means.
Del Rio was born in California - can't get any more mexican than that.

Little known heros from nfl history

Aswipe gonzalez

In november 1987, joe jervoski of brookfield illinois, dropped one of his two chicago style hotdogs in to the mens room trough at solders field while trying to hold his belly up far enough to make sure his tiny male member was far enough out of his pants to start urinating

4 other men from the chicago area dove into the trough to try and save the red hot. 2 men (bob cosovic 29 from naperville, and steve creski 43 from barrington) drowned while trying to eat the savory hot dog in the trough while others continued to uninate

It wasnt until the dog reached tne drain and plugged in up that people began to panic.

That is when aswipe gonzalez was radioed that there was an emergency in the mens room. Aswipe entered the room, surveyed the situation, then uttered his famous line.

"is no problem"

He dove in and after fighting with the clog for over a minute, emerged with the hot dog.

But he was not done. He became a true hero that day when he decided not to throw the hot dog away, but to take it home to feed his family of 11, plus the othe 36 relatives he had living in his house

A chicago, and mexican hero, aswipe gonzalez

It seems that Mexicans no like play defense. Sorta like white people. But there have been a few thumpers.

Manny Fernandez was defense tackle for the Dolphins 70s dynasty, famous for dominant performance
in three straight Super Bowl wins, 28 tackles and 3 sacks.

Donnie Edwards was a 13-year linebacker who retired in 2006. He made pro bowl once.

Tony Casillas was the best of brown bunch, a pro bowl tackle from the 90s.

Jack Del Rio and Ron Rivera were black-and-blue division linebackers. They both can pass as Mexicans.

Cornerbacks? nada

You need to expand your criteria a little. One of the better defensive players in the modern (Superbowl era) NFL was a latino, and he played for the Packers. This is your Latino pride quiz. Can you name him without help from the internet?

Ted Hendricks? He was born in Guatemala.

Once we go with "Latino", the floodgates open. Wayne Fontes mentioned earlier, who is Portugese, has a Latino card. Before you know, Pele references.

I said without relying on the internet. I don't care how finicky you are, Guatemalans count. Besides, most "Mexicans" in the US actually began the pilgrimage down there.

Well, I've been doing a bit of internet research, so the Ted Hendricks factoid was already in my head.

I'm telling you, you can't always tell a Mexican-American by looking at them. They are a sneaky people.

Louis C.K. is a M.A.

Still no Mexican-American CB's. The one listed, Frank Correl, was actually a K.

Mexican-Americans have the wrong body type for playing defensive back. The Aztec and Mayan phenotypes are short and squatty. Not especially fast, and not good at all at change of direction. The ones who grow big become offensive linemen (think Roberto Garza, Antonio Muñoz) or defensive linemen (Luis Castillo).

Yes, I too was disappointed at that faux CB, I wanted to break myth that brown men can't cover.
But keep in mind that list was just of foreign born Latinos. Our country was badly infiltrated by Mexicans during Democratic administrations, here's the mother lode of Mexican-Americans:

(I'll spare you the trouble, no DBs there either.)
