I remember when Crosby was drafted. He was supposed to have a leg stronger than Superman's. Why can't he kickoff over the end zone like virtually every other kicker in the NFL?

Yea the Carolina 'D' is back !

Another Three and out !

The Panthers have good field position again after a poor Arizona punt.

I must not understand why that one holding penalty will be the "most scrutinized" this post season.

What will the Arizona 'no offense' so far do!?

OK after a Carolina missed FG we have a decent game.

Carolina 10 - Arizona 7.

Its not pretty. Carolina's O is just tripping over itself. And no one at ESPN has noticed Newton cannot throw a wet ball. He has been to the sidelines twice to dry his hands in the middle of a drive. His worst throw (out to right with wide open WR) just nosed into the turf because it slipped out of his hands.

His INT that has the Cardinals an inch from a TV was a bad route by his WR.

Turnovers put Cards in the lead. They have no offense. Their punter can't hit one longer than 31 yards.

ESPN also doesn't know unexpectedly short punts that are wobbling are the toughest to catch. Like a knuckleball to a catcher who is running full speed.

'Fuzzy' Whittaker 'with two 'T's'..... a 39 Yard reception and TD !

32 Carries all season for this almost unknown....till today !

They love him in Carolina.

Panthers 20 - Cardinals 14.

and the Panthers are right back with a TO deep in the Arizona Red Zone.

That suddenly set up a Cam Newton pass to Mike Tolbert. Two scores in under 2 minutes.

Panthers 27 - Cardinals 14.

With Arizona's ineptitude at QB, this is game pretty much over.

I dunno whether to root for the Lions or the Cowboys trm. A Lions win means the Packers will have to face a brotha, which makes me nervous.

History shows that the only brotha the Packers have ever beaten in the playoffs was a WR playing QB named Joe Webb. Oh well, may this post jinx that farce.

The ball was uncatchable and having a hand on a shoulder pad had no bearing on the incompletion. Let the players decide the game not jerk-off refs that like to inject themselves into the outcome. Can't stand that.

As for Seattle, if the refs let the db's mug people, then the other team needs to adjust and go all grabby smurf on their receivers too.

He has a couple of nice runs in this game. Injured or not, Newton can still run, naturally.

The Packers walloped the Panthers in Wk 7, but regular season games mean shit in the playoffs. In 2004, the Packer swept the Vikings only to get mooned by Moss in the playoffs. Notoriously, they were led by a brotha at QB.

Any argument about the Carolina D being back cannot include the game against Arizona as meaning anything. Ryan Lindley, Arizona's 3rd string QB, is just that bad. Seriously, this guy is terrible. I have had no confidence since Stanton went down, and I don't think AZ has won a game with him as a starter. It's shocking AZ scores any points at all, to be honest.

Sometimes having a great ILB makes a defense, well, great.

The Bears with Urlacher. Ravens with Lewis. Look at the Gold Diggers D this season without their two-headed monsters.

Not if the ILB can fill 4 holes.

The hotshot ILB plays the run so well, he single-handily forces opposing offenses to abandon the run. Consequently, offenses become one-dimensional. The hotshot ILB excels in coverage and is also an excellent blitzer.

It's Thompson job to find a hotshot ILB.

I am very impressed the Refs sent Miller off as well. He was concussed going down and almost lost the ball before the hit the ground. Not stunned the Steelers sent him right back in.

Serious question: We have seen how Rodgers once concussed is no longer effective. Aren't the Steelers better off with Gradowski and Spaeth?

Carolina's defense has been playing better lately, which made me think they might be dangerous in GB. Charles Johnson has had GB's line for lunch in the past and they have a better outside rush than Detroit. That's something that can get after the Packers offense.

After yesterday, though, I'm a lot less worried about Carolina. They're better than earlier this year but AZ's offense makes it impossible to say anything about an opponent's D. And Carolina's offense is very limited.

Carolina hurt themselves a lot yesterday with the muffed punt and bad route that led to the INT.

Carolina played a team with an invalid at qb at home and won by 11 points. Arizona netted 78 yards total and their punter couldn't punt over 30 yards. Mind boggling, they should have lost by 40. I was not impressed with Carolina at all. Dallas has a legit team top to bottom. Go lions!

Dallas won't have any problem with the Lions. That will set up a situation I don't really like - my second favorite team coming to play my FAVORITE team. Oh well, at least one of them would be guaranteed to advance. I don't think Seattle is all that unbeatable. I'm not predicting Carolina will beat them, but I wouldn't be surprised by it.

Talk about shopping for an ILB to trade for, Dallas has several good ones this season, and Shawn Lee coming back next year. I'd look in that direction. I doubt Ted even considers a move of that sort, though.

If you are betting folk...grab the UNDER in DET/DAL.

When the Lions defense has played run-heavy offenses recently, the average points scored in those game has been in the mid 30s. The o/u here is 48. The only way I see this getting over 48 is if we have a turnover-fest where the offenses are given a short field on numerous occasions. The Dallas offense late in the year has feasted on poor defenses...they aren't racking up 40 on Detroit.

The Romo to Dez Bryant connection has been ringing it up of late. I expect to see at least 4 TD's to Bryant and Calvin Johnson or 28 points.

The Cowboys were my heroes after I sneaked into a theatre to watch Debbie Does Dallas.

I stopped being a Cowboys fan on September 20, 1992. On that day, the dark age in Green Bay died. A hard-drinking hillbilly named Billy Joe Favre replaced an injured Don WhatsHisName and...The rest is motherfucking history.

Is he going against RT Free or LT Smith?

Don't know the snaps, but I"m pretty sure he's come from both edges a few times each.

Playoff games are not all QB, just as comebacks are not all QB either.

He is good, I just don't know if its barely above average or slightly below franchise.

IMO, Romo during the bulk of his career was a franchise-caliber QB. To me, any QB who is one of the top 8 in the league is a franchise-caliber QB.

As you point out, the Cowboys biggest issues have been defensively over the bulk of the last 2 decades. However, Romo has played poorly in the postseason too. He's not a guy that steps up his game in the postseason...and that is a knock against him.

When Dallas does well, his voice pitch rises an octave and he yells excitedly into mic.

Perhaps he's not THAT impartial...maybe Buck is just stroking his cock?

They still need to get INTO the endzone...and still need to find a way to keep Detroit from moving the ball too.

Romo's trying to keep it close so he can choke in the clutch.

Suh was on 1 leg in that play, too. Still put his foot back down to make the play.

That was a good call on 4th down to get out wide.

A requirement for getting to the post season.

Now we have a game. The score is Detroit 20 - Dallas 14 after that Demarco Murray rushing TD on 4th down.

2:54 remains in the 3rd Qtr.

Did some of you forget this is the Detroit Lions playing in Dallas?

Those might have been the best 2 downs of the playoffs so far. Strength on strength with 1 yard on 3rd/4th down.

In other news, I've somehow been left alone to watch 3 quarters so far of the best playoff game this weekend. That almost never happens and I'm almost always chasing kids while trying to watch the Packers game.

Back 2 back sacks by Suh.

And some Packers fans are still mad the guy's suspension got overturned.

I think 70 K is just penalty. Rodgers didn't get injured on that cheapie, so I'm fine with the fine.
