There is a cat in the NFL - and his name is Terrel Pryor - dude's got 9 lives when it comes to signing contracts.

He must look like something else during tryouts for these teams to keep signing him, only to get a good look over the next couple weeks/month and send him packing.

Used to be you wanted a vet backup who could run your offense for a few weeks. But in today's league, there aren't even 32 starters, let alone competent vets to backup winning teams.

So are teams keeping a plethora of other QB options around to "break glass in case of emergency"? You can't construct a no huddle Oregon or Urban Meyer attack during a bye week, but you can call the plays conventionally.

True dat - so after half a decade or so of a lot of teams only carrying 2 QBs, do they go back to 3, with one guy being developmental, and the other being a college option guy? If something happens to your stater, you go with the option guy and throw out half your playbook?

No. He was just there on a tryout basis. Apparently, he is on his way to the Redskins for another tryout.

This falls in line with my theory about the proposed rule change to move the extra point to the 1.5 yard line. Tebow actually has experience a 2-point specialist QB. Pryor could be worth a look there as well despite failing in so many other roles.

why not teach one of the fatties to throw the ball?

set him up as the qb on the two point conversion, and he can run the option. he can either plow into the line like a wreaking ball or fake the run and throw a short out to a wide open TE?

By his account, only a few. Claims he was close to 300 when he was with the Giants, was 320 in that picture! Giant's blue must be very slimming!

His latest stint with the River Monsters caused something of a stir, look for Youtube videos of it, pretty neat to see the big guy out there, still with a great arm and sidestepping rushers!

Did you guys see the footage of "The Pillsbury Throwboy" being carried off the field by his River Monster teammates after an injury? Pretty cool video.

Pryor is now signed by the Bengals. He had an interview yesterday on local sports radio. He's got the whole "humility" thing down and the interview seemed to be a shoot. He totally admitted he was a punk kid when he came into the league and hopes he has learned enough to stick with the team. When he was a rookie, he didn't study, sloughed on his training and had no clue how to watch film. He is trying to leverage what he's learned into a roster spot.

Far more advantageous to say you weren't any good because you were lazy (fixable) and not because you're a a marginal talent.
