rodgers makes a nice completion to brewster to get the packers inside the titans 10 yard line.

i guess tennessee finally decided to rest their starters, they played well into the 3rd quarter on both sides of the ball.

5 yard td pass to ruvell martin to make it 28-14 with 14:19 left in the game.

Pass was from Aaron Rodgers.

This game is absolutely meaningless. Seriously!

The starting defensive players combined for 4 tackles (3 by Kampman and 1 by Barnett on the first series). This game was played 1/2 by guys that have a chance to make the team as backups and 1/2 by guys that have no shot at making the team. And they played much of the game against the Titans starters.

Just look at the stats:

T-A SCK INT FF
T. White 5-0 0.0 0 0

According to the Titans broadcast, Fisher was trying to get a win and get Collins used to the 1st String offense (since he is the probably starter week one).

This is why they kept the starters in until the 3rd quarter.

Just getting here, and the game not on TV here.. What's going on? Quick recap so I don't have to read all 35 pages!!

Special teams meltdown: penalties on 2/3 of all ST plays, no coverage, muff-fest (C. Rodgers, Carlton the Doorman). Bright spot- Ryan big gross average, but not as great on net average because of big returns. I have no visual so I don't know if it was ST breakdown or no hang-time.

rodgers' actually had TWO muffed punts but gb recovered the first one. in fact, the first muff told it all: when nfl network ran the replay you could see rodgers take his eyes off the ball at the last second, see a defender about to nail him AND THEN DROPPED THE BALL SO HE COULD MOVE OUT OF THE WAY!!!

What can be learned from today's game?

Our back-ups are bad.
Our Special Teams are atrocious.
Our starters better stay healthy for us to have any chance of a good season.
Our OL does not look ready to go.
We are not good enough to overcome penalty and turn-over deficits.
Ryan's gross average on punts is great, but it might not matter much.
We haven't found a return man yet.

I almost forgot one:

We've got the bears right where we want them!!!

It sounded like a bunch of questionable players were playing on special teams - basically the second string special team players. I am assuming it will be better during the regular season, with Poppinga, Hodge, Martin and a few of the other starting special team players get in there.

Great to see the leg of Ryan - he had a couple of boomers (one I believe was 65 yards - with good hang time).

Wasn't the punt coverage a tad suspect?

2 X 24 yard returns on punts... won't play.

Yeah, but I do.

Although I have a hard time equating Ryan with EC....

Does Ryan have a friend?

" Great to see the leg of Ryan - he had a couple of boomers (one I believe was ** 65 yards - with good hang time)." RIPackerfan

Jon Ryan had an awesome day. That long was 69 Yards.

Look who he was punting against on the other Team.A very solid punter and once one of OURs and since he left it's been a little rough...

yet Josh Bidwell (now in Tampa Bay) wasn't horrible.

Woodson, Jennings and R. Martin have all shown the ability to catch punts with no problem. I would also expect that TT will be looking to bring in a returner for a tryout once everyone makes their final cuts.

Blackmon will be available to handle returns after his stint on PUP. 6 weeks?

I thought he had TWO 69-yarders. His hangtime was at worst decent. Now if only the coverage team could have made PacMan look a little less like his namesake...

Wow Herion looks good. How do you cut this guy??

Who goes?

Davenport or Herron?

Noah Herron... staked a claim on the #3 RB spot today !

TT has some tough calls.

We're supposedly keeping 4 HB's right? Ahman, Sam, Noah, and Poop. Beach can go on PS or PUP.

What can be learned from today's game?

Our back-ups are bad.

I wouldn't necessarily say that. Well, not from this game. Our backups against their backups went 14-14. Our starters went 7-0 in one series. Our backups got spanked by their starters (to the tune of 21-0), but that's not really surprising. If it were one or two sprinkled in, it might be a different story. But it was almost all twos against almost all ones for two quarters. It's really not very surprising.

I honestly can't take anything away from this game. A few guys "flashed." Ryan punted the ball well. That's about it.

A big plus is the pass to Jennings from Favre.

We all know that Favre needs to feel comfortable with his receivers - and I have to believe that that single pass went a loooooooong way to getting him to feel comfortable with Jennings.

The question is - does Jennings move into the starting line-up. My thinking is yes - from the game, it seems like after that play, he was taken out for good (with Driver) while Fergie was left in.

MJ:

Jon Ryan had 8 punts today.

In order they were:

53; 51; 60; 69; 51; 48; 47; and 50 Yard's in length . V. Good Day.

Thanks, Buck. Never try to watch a game with a kid talking in your ear and lousy graphics that don't back up what they're talking about. And speaking of coverage, how come we had Jessie on the sidelines telling us what she heard from the trainers about rehab equipment and the Titans coverage people were doing player interviews?

Starting WR's have to be DD and Jennings.

Otherwise what was all the hype on competition inTC ?

Way out in front were WR's DD ,Jennings (again ) and right there with them WR FA Ruvell Martin who has been all in for us this Off Season and has certainly made the Team....

or again ??????? Huge controversary among us who watch it ALL so carefully.

Robert Ferguson and Rod Gardner have just been along for " the Ride ".

They have been HUGE disappointments to me.

The BEST 53 Man Roster Ted !!

Those cheaters still have their starters in. At least, we can say it was 7-0 when it was firsts on firsts.
:D

Rastak thought this should be an easy win for Green Bay. Wonder what he'd think knowing that we took almost every stinking starter out after one series, and they have their starters in during their fourth offensive series (other than Young or Collins, not sure who is considered the starter).

This is extremely meaningless.

Still watching tha game Harvey...early in the 4th quarter on my tivo..I couldn't resist playing tennis instead of watching the game live.

The game is pretty meaningless since starters didn't play much. So the point was rendered moot. I'm more interested in gbpackfan who RIPS Vike scrubs for getting yards but not points scored on them, Pack has surrendered 28 points thus far, will I hear excuses or the same ripping?

You may see that... but I'm thinking Ted will pull the Arliss Beach move to PS ,and then he gets snaped off that and Ted returns with:

"Yaa Beach.Good young Running back.We liked him." and. . .

"Well. . . that's the risk ya sometimes take. . . See this PS thing doesn't afford us protection from losing a fine prospect like Arliss Beach, and we really liked him had high hopes for Arliss's ability, but you can't cover all the base's...win one loose one. We wish Arliss well, he has a bright future in the NFL but just wasn't the fit Mike McCarthy needed. . "

OK Ted !! Sure.

That's why I didn't comment.

Those 500 yards were pretty meaningless last night--although at least it seemed to be more twos against twos and threes against threes in last night's game, but it was still a lot of guys who won't make the team.

Amen, let the real games begin. Packers did some good stuff and bad but they rested lots of guys...I'm not sure I agree with sitting the guys that much but hey, nobody got hurt so it worked I guess...plus, that's pretty standard in the NFL.
