I'll be back in the Midwest--in Wisconsin even--this weekend. Haven't been back in a year. I'll actually be able to watch the game on live broadcast, in Packers territory. Wow. It's been a while since I've been able to do that.

I will be going to this game and have had it circled on the calendar since the schedule was released.

After I witness the Packers kick the shit out of the Seahawks, I will move on to the "acceptance" stage with regard to the 2015 NFC Championship Game result.

We are going to get trucked in this game. Our WR will not get open and AR will be under constant pressure. Lynch will run 180 for 3 TDs...this is going to be bad.

Over/under on the # of times we see the ball bouncing off Bostick's facemask this week?

I'm a little concerned for this game. With Cobb injured, the WR weren't getting a ton of separation against Chicago.

Defense needs to tackle a hell of a lot better. After Forte torched us, you know Seattle will test the perimeter of the defense. Still, great chance to put Seattle in the 0-2 hole.

Need one yard, you run and fail. People complain.

Starting to think it has nothing to do with the play call.

After the Rams founds some holes in that D this week I hope MM can widen them. Watching Tavon Austin do whatever he wanted makes me want to get Montgomery more involved.

I don't love the matchup with their offense anymore. Since we last played them they've gained not one but two pro bowl TEs. Their only good WR is a slot guy and then obviously there's the ground threat of Lynch and Wilson. Its like they were designed to feast on the soft underbelly of the Packers defense. I hope our inside jag-backers are ready for a challenge. Having Burnett ready to go would be nice.

And they lost a pro bowl Center. A team that is run oriented added a TE who can't block at the expense of an All Pro Center. Not sure their offense is scarier.

I don't think its scarier overall, just scarier for us. I wouldn't expect Unger's loss to be noticed as much in the running game as the passing game. Especially since that Nowak guy looks like a mauler.

Offer the Texans - Hundley, Adams and two first rounders for JJ Watt. Texans aren't going anywhere soon. Would help them rebuild.

Couldn't part with Adams this season. Not with Jordy out. And couldn't afford Watt. But, frankly, sending two firsts for Watt seems like a bargain when you consider we've spent first rounders on guys like Derek Sherrod and Nick Perry. Datone might be in that category, also.

so this is the week I'd have expected AR to throw for under 200 yards....

I think the one big area where Nelson being out shows up is when plays break down and Nelson isn't running to an opening that AR is looking at. It seemed like there were always a couple times a game AR scrambled and found Nelson extending a route for a big play.

Probably better depth than most years, though, they are good at guard/center. Barclay has had a couple more weeks to train and recover, we'll see. Backup tackle is never very good. I wish the Packers had force-fed Walker into the tackle position in preseason, rely on Tretter-Lane inside.

RT and LT are such specialized jobs. Seems to me if you have 4 backups, 2 ought to be focused and get reps to play tackle, 2 tuned for g/c. I would have played Walker strictly at tackle just to build-up some depth at the position. Lane Taylor is fine at guard.

Well, Forte had 165 yds of total offense and 1 TD; and Bennett had 5 rec 55 yds and 1 TD - against dunderdummy last week...

Pretty sure we can discount the 54 minutes of fairly dominant ball in the NFCCG as being nothing but a fluke - and the 6 minutes disaster that followed to be much closer to the norm. Dunderdummy rarely cares about stopping the run. Situationally?? He will always invite an offense to run at him, and it doesn't seem to bother him when he gets run over.

No, he challenges them to do one or the other. Typically its the run, but in the NFCCG he challenged them to pass. Russel wasn't up to it which is why we had 54 minutes of dominance. Its also why the seachickens traded for Jimmy Graham. They need a TE to stretch the middle of the field against that style of defense. Problem for them is that Graham isn't really a middle of the field TE, he is a WR.

http://fantasynews.cbssports.com/fantasyfootball/update/25305982/packers-te-richard-rodgers-may-have-neck-injury

but then this came out

9/17/15) The reports of a neck injury sustained Thursday in practice by Packers tight end Richard Rodgers might have been a false alarm. He is not listed on the team's injury report, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports.
Rodgers was seen talking with team trainers after a tackling drill, and it was presumed that he might have injured his neck. Upon the release of the practice report, though, he didn't make an appearance, which clears away that potential concern.

He is expected to slot into the starting role Sunday night against Seattle.

I sit just selective memory that this always seems to happen the week before facing a great pass rusher? Jared Allen (bikes version with Cliffy hurt), Peppers (with Bears Cliffy hurt), Tamba Hali (both tackles hurt), Jason Taylor (Clifton hurt).

ya, it's selective memory. Remember 2007, when the Packers went into KC, and Clifton totally shut down Allen. That was a thing of beauty. That punk was so beside himself with frustration that I remember him saying some incredibly stupid things (even for him) in the post-game conference. Hurts to be owned, for sure.

That was fun in '07. It also occurred to me that part of the problem with looking at the opponent is that the Packers have had 2 or 3 very good pass rushers in the division as their tackles got old. Pepper, Allen and Avril existed at the same time, which is six games that don't look like fun with Tackle injuries staring you in the face.

Getting Jason Taylor for the out of Conference game just adds to the persecution complex. Until Tausch and Cliffy got old, it was never a real concern.

Can confirm timeline of 4-6 weeks for Bryan Bulaga's return. @RapSheet & @AlbertBreer 1st to report Packers tackle had torn meniscus surgery

Bulaga being out again is concerning but but this is a good game to play at home with the Seahawks in a bit of a bind. I have a sneaking suspicion that Rodgers pulls out a classic tomorrow night.

What's the over/under for Holding calls on Barclay...I set the line at 3

Barclay has started 18 games in the NFL. That's probably more than what most teams have as a backup. Good offensive tackles are hard to come by. Packers have been fortunate to have 2 good ones most of the time.

I agree that it is hard to find 2 good tackles, and very few teams have 3.

Just because Barclay has 18 starts does not mean he is a good backup. He is not the player we saw in the past. There's a hope he will return to that form. I think the packers put too many eggs in his basket.

Barclay has also had another 2 weeks to knock the rust off. He might be a sight better than the preseason version at this point.

I hope.

i think tackle needs to be the #1 priority for the draft next year and its time to move on from bulaga, the guy just cannot stay healthy, and he's not the greatest when he is healthy

Bulaga has been injury prone for sure, but he's one of the best RT's in the NFL when healthy. They'll stick with him. However, 2015 was the first time TT didn't draft an offensive lineman, and that probably won't happen again. So, it's certainly possible TT will draft an OT early, especially with Sitton, Lang, Bakhtiari and Tretter all due to be FA's in 2017.

Well, Barclay is better on the right side instead of the left...

Ya, I agree. I know you aren't that high on Walker - short arms, little dick, whatever (and then there are Josh Walker's shortcomings) - I wish they had pushed the kid harder to be the backup RT. Both Bulaga and Barclay are injury-riddled and iffy. Relying on Barclay to come back to old form is tough bet.

I like Walker a lot as a do everything backup and at Guard. He doesn't have great reach or feet. So LT is a definite stretch for him.

Packers have to throw to win in this one. The Seahawks aren't going to let Lacy get going. Like Brady did against Buffalo, you need to come out firing passes left and right and the receivers need to step up.

at least we was before the injury

theres also a good chance that he now sucks just as bad on the right now as he does on the left and that we may be watching a-rods last game of the season tonight

I don't recall Barclay's name being called tonight. If he can keep this up we'll be okay in there until Bulaga returns.

Considering the opponent and the proliferation of Green Bay ankle injuries in the game, that's a good guess. But Green Bay is too classy to suggest anything along those lines.
