Falcons are demolishing the Cowboys. They are making the Cowboys D look as bad as it looked two years ago with Rob Ryan.

On offense, the Cowboys had enough Weeden proof ideas for one half. Now they have no offense and especially harmful is the lack of any run game. Weeden doesn't want to throw deep at all.

In the other conference, the Browns coaches are being rewarded justly for trusting in a McCown.

J. McCown 18/33 233 1 0

He has also been sacked 4 times. At least there are no turnovers to worry about.

Defense is the problem for Cleveland. LBs are especially weak. Mingo is just too small/can't tackle.

could still win though...

They put a severe physical beating on the last two QBs they faced. Be interesting against the old man next week.

Kapernick was drawing good notices for his play versus Pittsburgh last week. Opinion seemed split on how much was garbage time, but his backers said he played well early despite the first half deluge.

I only saw a little of him, but it looks lie his repertoire hasn't expanded at all.

Colin Kaepernick is the 4th QB ever with 2 picks six in the 1Q (Stan Humphries, Philip Rivers, and Jon Kitna vs. Arizona(!) in 2010).

He looked decent against the Vikings but then the Vikings were flat as hell that game.

Every two weeks the landscape changes (except the Bears). Now the Cardinals look unstoppable, the Steelers offense looks stoppable (Ben is out at least four weeks [minimum] and possibly the season, and the Seahawks look good but not great.

However, I think I was wrong to fear the 49ers.

I saw that. I watched as much of that as I could stand. There really is only so much fun you can have watching someone you hate being murdered. Still, you would have thought on at least one of those fourth downs that ol' Johhny woulda said "hey, just chuck that f'er up there and see what comes down"

Well, the Lions really are sweating now. The offensive line is a shambles, and they lost their best lineman, Warford, to an ankle injury again. Their #1 pick, Laken Tomlinson, not looking good. Stafford is getting beat up and making mistakes.

But the defense looks pretty good, better when Levy comes back.

By the way, do you all notice how lucky we are to have Aaron Rodgers when you watch other QB's play? I watched Giants-Skins Thursday, and I will never ever take Rodgers for granted again.

I heard Al or Chris say their run defense is 29th in the NFL. That's gotta sting after last year.

CK used to be able to move and throw, but he had two terrible ducks after movement that resulted in INTs. One was a rollout, one was a reset in pocket, both were horrible underthrows.

They had two. It defies comprehension. I wish he would would have done that against the Packers. Maybe he did and that pass rush acted as the world's best deodorant.

Peyton Manning said they picked the pistol approach to the Lions game based off Packers game tape versus the Lions last year.

They also hypothesized that it's a nice halfway option for Peyton and Kubiak to settle on. Put Peyton under center, and it takes away his vision of the defense and one of his biggest weapons - ability to dissect it and make adjustments. Problem is, he's too slow to work the shotgun anymore, so the pistol minimizes the number of steps he has to take to throw or hand-off.

UNSOUND!!!

Better.

In other, Dez Bryan't non-TD playoff non-catch news, this happened to the Bengals. I think its an even easier call than the Dez non-catch, but I certainly understand the dismay its causing. It was called back as an incompletion.

SB Nation @SBNation
The NFL still can’t figure out what a catch is: http://www.sbnation.com/lookit/2015/9/27/9405291/tyler-eifert-scores-td-according-to-everyone-but-the-nfl …

Some rules fall by the wayside.

That catch by Eifert was a score until the DB kicked it.

That used to be it's own little penalty.

Helping the runner was a penalty, then it was ignored, now it's a play.

^^ That Cincy play is bizarre. He's clearly not 'going to the ground' - He's going to the end zone after taking two steps after securing the ball. He has possession and then the ball breaks the plane - the play is over at that point. Over.

(Dez Bryant never made the goal line)

Nope. If the endzone were not part of the equation (e.g. he was reaching for a first down), the pass would be ruled incomplete. He was hit before he made the "football move" and did not complete the catch through going to the ground. The endzone does not make a difference when determining a catch vs incompletion.

Dez leaped into the air to make the catch. Eifert caught it and then turned to run. Clear TD. Could have used those 6 points in fantasy...

I still think Dez caught it, but the rules say he didn't. With this play, the rules were just interpreted incorrectly by the refs.

I think this is more clear cut than Dez. He has one foot down, gets hit and spun (he is not turning to run, he gets hit) and then puts his second foot down. By this time he is going to the ground.
