Lacy tries to outrun um wide - again

Yeah, then they run that toss and he is cutting right off tackle and making it work.

Starks also can run like a grounhog. He disappears in the turf and gains five yards.

Were they afraid of that returner? Crosby also buried a KO into the corner too.

Might have to move on from Masthay. Unlike Crosby, he didn't really respond when competition was brought in.

Sweet! Seattle & SF go down within two weeks of each other to the Pack.

Two teams that have owned Pack in recent past.

Feeling good!!!

Since when did Harlan tried to hide it?

Nice win, I will have a good day at work tomorrow.

Were they afraid of that retina? Crosby also buried a KO into the corner too.

On the last punt at least, I'm pretty sure they told him to kick it OOB to avoid a return completely. All in all though, Masthay has been a mess.

I have to say, poor execution on a sideline kick seems more Masthay's style than 3 kicks OOB when he was not trying to be directional.

He has mishit a bunch, but usually its line drive or short, not 30 yards left or right.

terrific day defensively. the o, under great pressure from a desperate team, did enough.

what does that tell you about fat mikes play calling troy, when someone else takes over and the offense doesn't miss a beat

Troy said he thought Mike was one of the better offensive playcallers.

It feels like you hire a guy to drive the golf ball for you. It's his only job. All year long and every week he gets to practice for that one chance to step up into the tee box and hit a high draw.

And when he spends the day shanking, slicing and duck-hooking one part of me says, "wtf? It's your only job!" and another part of me says, "Go easy on the guy...it is more difficult than it looks and he will eventually be really good at it again. Besides he is really good at teeing it up for Crosby."

That second part of me sounds way too much like his mom.

Maybe, but we have been one of the highest scoring offenses since MM has been here. That doesn't happen by dumb luck year after year.

I don't believe today was the nail in the coffin, but his prognosis is not good.

But Mom is right, it took Crosby an entire year to get himself straightened out and shake the influence of Slocum. Masthay has until mid-year before he hits the anniversary.

The thing that bothers me about masthay is that even his good points aren't good. Sf punter struggled today but he at least uncorked a few books. Masthay's "bombs" are like 45 yards

Crosby was fine the first half of 2012, fell apart the second half, just as Masthay did in 2014. In 2012, through the first 7 games Crosby missed three field goal attempts, from 51, 52 and 58 yards. From game 8 on, he struggled. The next year Crosby started by hitting his first 9, and went 33/37 over the season. Unlike Masthay, he didn't let his poor half-season one year carry over to the next season.

Hate to say it, but I think Masthay is broken. I really liked him as a punter in GB. Now, I shutter to think how he might perform when the weather turns bad.
