They were plenty good enough last year. The problem is our offensive scheme which doesn't know how to effectively move down the field with passing routes that get guys open. Few tackles can matchup against Denver and Carolina in their buildings and dominate their matchups when their offense is looking at 3rd and 15 most of the time.

Screens would have worked all game. As would rollouts. As would quick 5 yard passes. Yet we keep them in the bag until the game is all but decided.

They were plenty good enough last year. The problem is our offensive scheme which doesn't know how to effectively move down the field with passing routes that get guys open. Few tackles can matchup against Denver and Carolina in their buildings and dominate their matchups when their offense is looking at 3rd and 15 most of the time.

No pass rush. No experience in the defensive backfield. Inexperienced middle backers. Too little speed at receiver. An offensive line not used to blitzing. That same offensive line now appears shell shocked. A very tough two game stretch on the road. Maybe we read our press clippings and thought we were better than we are. Inexperienced play caller. Quite a few reasons for these two debacles.

All of that adds up to them being.....not very good.

I agree they have been poor this year...but the fact remains that they have been better than average over the bulk of games in the last 2 years. No reason to place the blame on them...the entire offense has looked like horseshit, so you could say the same thing about anyone.

The defense is a bigger concern to me than our OTs.
