How do you even know you trust Perillo?
How do you even know you don't trust Backman?

i'd like to see the replay of that kick, it looked like it got past everyones hands, then about a foot or two later acted weird
like it was shot

The streak was bound to end sometime. I just didn't think it would be this season. I thought this might be the game that was the cure for what ails us. I was wrong. Time to cheer for Oakland!

Not even close. It was mishit, low and swerving. Not sure it made the end zone. Doesn't appear to have been blocked.

was not blocked. Total knuckleball. Hit very hard. I have never, ever seen Crosby kick one like that, except in purpose, on a kickoff. I suspect he was paid off.

On replay he appeared to pull away from it on the strike. Like Mitch Williams falling off the mound to the left.

Since Masthay couldn't screw up another punt, he was feeling left out there at the end.

Did you ever try to really crush a driver in golf and then hit it flat. That's what it looked like to me.

Crosby barely made his first field goal, hitting the upright. Maybe we shouldn't have been surprised he mishit the potential game winner.

and the problem is, he didn't even have to kick it that hard
it was what, like a 52 yarder. thats more then in his range
but like rand said. it was a total team effort today
i think its pretty telling that the last 3 games the offense has looked like shit until late in the game when the gameplan has been thrown out and they start playing "backyard ball"
game planning has to change, and thats very much an M3 problem as it is anyone else

Did he lose his footing at all?
Can't say. Didn't see his feet. From the look of the kick, he hit it too high on the ball. But it could not have been that far off, because he cleared the LOS almost at normal height.

^Laundry is important.
Packers need to alter playbook. Teams are jumping all the stuff they normally show in no-huddle. No one is open deep (if there is time) and no one worries about the run game.
King Friday suggested sending Jones to the sideline and I might agree. While sending Rodgers or Perillo to the sideline makes the no huddle one dimensional, taking Jones out of there for Janis (doesn't look like its going to be Abby) might be a move to consider.
But I think its the playbook and formation stuff first.

I know there is little consolation after a terrible home loss, but consider that the Seahawks were struggling earlier this year. In fact, the ref blew the call in the game where the Lions should have had the ball first and goal, so the Lions should have beat them. They padded the record to 6-0 and save for the Denver game have been in two of the three losses until the last possession. They still have time to improve, and have an excellent opportunity to dig themselves out next week against the Vikes. This team needs these tests to prove what they are. If they are not good enough this year, I'll accept that. I still say they have good enough players, enough talent. This team was 6-0. They can still compete for a playoff spot, they just need to make it happen and not overreact.
how bout jones as a TE?
he's got the size, and he's slow enough

He's not as big as you think. Nelson is bigger. Jones is much smaller than DJ Williams who was a small TE.
stafford against our defense
24-38, 242 yards. 63.2%. 2 tds, 1 int 0 sacks 87.8 QBR
a-rod against one of the worst pass defenses in the nfl and worst scoring D in the nfl
35-61, 333 yards. 57.4%, 2td's 0ints, 3 sacks 83.6 QBR

The zero sacks against Stafford is what sticks out.
Zero sacks against Stafford.
Zero sacks against Cam Newton.
Zero sacks against Manning.
No sacks the last three games.
We have been criticizing the coverage by the secondary, but we are getting almost no pressure on the QB.

and then, at one point later in the game they rush 3, then send one on a delayed blitz and it blows up the play cause we can't figure out how to block it with our 5 linemen te's and RB's

Agree completely. It's stale and not surprising anyone...and if you can't surprise you better dominate.
thought the d played well.
no, sorry, not buying it
if we had played this way against a good offense, then maybe you can say what the defense did wasn't bad
but when you play that way against a terrible team. its bad
its very bad

There were a few nice individual plays on D but over all it was not a good game IMHO. Lions were inept as much as the D was good.

Just got back from game. Great seats - neat to see moment of silence for Paris, wolf's name on the ring and even got a nod from Aikmen.
A few observations - arod changed cleats about mid 2nd q.
Did pack lose 4 seconds before last TD. Official said to reset clock to 0:40 but it stayed at 36. Could've given us shot to get another 5 yards and maybe a less shankable FG.
Also - seemed like refs were happy to keep flags in the pocket. Late hit out of bounds, hit to Starks head and at least 3 more missed holding/PI calls. Have teams just determined that the refs won't call it everytime so bump/hold and make it even harder for the slow footed offense to get open.
Special teams on both sides sucked. 2 missed fg, 2 missed pat, bad punts, onside kicks, long kickoff return.
Like I said - pack has been just average in last 4 games.

Rodgers rolled into that guy. He was spying and came forward when Rodgers went wide. Bad decision with 3 man rush.

Actually, I thought overall it was one of their better results. They throttled the run game from nickel which you would expect to do versus that offense. But the killer again was big plays. Especially Tate on 3rd down. Also the TE not named Ebron on 3rd down between 2 defenders.

Yeah. Sun was in pack's eyes in 2nd q for sure.
Can't believe we abandoned run fully in 2nd half. 60+ attempts for arod.
more good news, the team that destroyed us 2 weeks ago is getting blown out by the chiefs 22-0 at halftime
peyton is 5-18 for 35 yards, no td's and 3 ints in the 3rd quarter
he was 21-29 for 340 yards and just 1 int against us
and the peyton manning era might have just ended

We got him at a bad time...coming off the bye when he had a chance to recover and get back to 85%.
I have a Broncos friend and I told him it was unlikely Manning would hold up through the rest of the year. He agreed with me. Manning fell apart last December. The guy can occasionally flash what he once was...but he's done and will only hurt the Broncos going forward.
