Tough turnaround for the Vikes. Travel to Arizona 4 days after playing Seattle. Harrison Smith still hurt?

Don't worry, you should learn pretty early that the first round bye is slipping away.

It is an interesting thought though. I guess if you are sure the Vikings will fold and cannot beat you in your house might be good to root for them to upset Arizona.

They have their best defensive guys missing at every level.

Linval Joseph out.
Anthony Barr out.
Harrison Smith out.

Decent player Andrew Sendejo out.

They got a guy off the street who might be taking snaps tonight.

Give me Arizona tonight. Packers would need to win out to have a shot at a bye. I don't think they are capable of doing that. However, if they can somehow pull that off then all it would take is an Arizona loss to Seattle in week 17.

The division is the first goal right now, so go Cardinals.

Held the ball too long.

Only 13 seconds left, what is Bridgewater doing stepping up in pocket when nobody is open? Buying time to do what? That was a bonehead play and the analysts really let him off hook. The QB has to know he has 2 or 3 seconds to throw ball somewhere. Go with quick out, or maybe roll Bridgewater out so he can easily get rid of ball.

In the dreadful home game against Lions, Packers were in similar situation. They let Rodgers throw a quick back-shoulder throw to Adams for 3 or 4 yards just to give Crosby a better shot. No way would Rodgers be so dumb as to hold ball 3+ seconds and risk a sack. Even so, it was a slightly risky play.

During this down period for the O, I've noticed something that makes me wince. When we need to move the ball down, one of the staple plays seems to be those smoke routes thrown parallel or only slightly down field. I keep freakin' out, it seems that eventually a DB is gonna jump a route and take it back on us. Isn't there anybody who can run a decent route downfield or a deep cross or somethin'?

Jones and Adams get zero separation and this is the only routes that have any room. I guess Adams and Jonesy are dinged, but Goddamn, somebody should be able to shake cover other than Cobb and RicRod.

You know, I've noticed the same thing. I keep wondering when a DB is going to swoop in and turn that into a pick six.

I also wonder what happened to the back shoulder throws? You don't have to be open to get one of those; in fact, it's better if you're not ahead of your guy. James Jones, where'd that play go?
