I get Cobb after halftime because they are trying to cross up the Defenses' adjustments to getting run over. But running Cobb should be second option always. Put him in there, get base D, then pass. Like that first down.

Actually, as I recall coaches used to be even more conservative, almost always punting on 4th......now that could be my dead brain cells showing their ugly face but it seems like coaches back in the 60's and 70's were really conservative.

Actually, as I recall coaches used to be even more conservative, almost always punting on 4th......now that could be my dead brain cells showing their ugly face but it seems like coaches back in the 60's and 70's were really conservative.

They at least completed better than 60% of their passes. That makes it easier to stick with the running game. Helps to not have tons of 3rd and long. Also helps to have a lead. Also helps to have totally awesome Stubby calling the plays. :-)
