It's now on Thursday Jan. 7, 2016 and VERY Nice day.

Sunny with clouds and almost a balmy 50 degrees F......@ SE Georgian Bay, Ontario, Canada.

Lots of snow down but the waters are still not frozen enough to open them up to the very many snowmobilers that are getting very anxious about now.

Pretty lame here in Anchorage this winter. Although that's fine with me as I had shoulder surgery in November and can't ski or ride my fat bike yet. It was warm after an early storm and we have very little snow in town. Alyeska resort has loads of snow up top but it's been rain at the bottom.

For..... Packer Nation...'a slight hangover ' day

In this part of Packer Nation where Mae and I both Packer fans reside:

Minus 15 Degrees Celcius and that's approx. 5 Degrees F. No wind and COLD.

Lots of snow down and about 5-7 days of this and the snowmobilers will be very happy campers. Well ...........their not going to be......... camping.

People today are such Candy Ass's.

Honey Harbour....... Ontario, Canada

Honey Harbour is a beautiful paradise found at the south-eastern edge of Georgian Bay. It is surrounded by sparkling blue water, and dotted with islands and channels for exploring by boat. Honey Harbour serves as a launching point to the "30,000 Islands" that make up the Georgian Bay geography. Honey Harbour has a variety of local shops and restaurants.

It's 1 Feb. 2016 and a Sunny morning. Approx. -2 C and 28 F. Sunny after a rain that began mid afternoon Sundasy 31 Jan. and lasted into the late night removing much snow.

The snowmobilers were WARNED to stay off Lake Simcoe on Sat. 30 Jan. So some clown decided he's venture out on the lake ice with his truck.

Ooops ! He went through thin ice:

Today it was overcast (Temp. 12 C and 28 F) with about 3-4 inches of wet snow down having dropped last night. The cleanup wasn't to bad given I keep a large area free of snow. I clean all walkway and the driveway and the area behind the house where I feed birds and squirrels and down to the well..

I actually saw a baby chipmunk out feeding yesterday. I'm guessing he awoke and was hungry. It's been mild. That was a surprize. A good thing there are no birds of prey here right now. A was fortunate to get a few good photos of this cute little fella. In the Spring I can pet them. That is until their well fed.

We're really getting Winter weather right now.

It's been extremely cold this past weekend ie minus 33 C in Honey Harbour, Ontario at daybreak Sunday 14 Feb. 2016 ... Valentines Day.

I had volunteered the catering of the luncheon at church for this day. When I entered the church at 8 AM with the food etc.......the cold came off me and actually gave the two friends inside the chills. Thank goodness there was zero wind.

There was a real crunch in the snow that morning. Good feet moved quickly and efficiently.

It seems we're getting some snow almost every day (Usually over night). I 'm always outside shoveling the driveway, mornings. I have a snow blower but love the physical side of removing snow to help with conditioning; to maintain a proper muscle mass and cardio vascular system. :-)

I read a report yesterday that the tail of Al Nino will treat us very well early this Spring (that officially begins on March 30). Much of Canada (excluding the Eastern parts ...The Maritimes and Newfoundland)and including Ontario, will experience a much milder early Spring (Predictably one of the top ten best in the history of recorded weather). Here's that story:

http://www.theweathernetwork.com/news/articles/winter-hasnt-been-cancelled-but-will-be-milder-for-most/60506

El Niño to impact Canadian winter, here's what it brings

Fortunately, we've been getting light snow almost nightly; not so in the region of our Nations Capitol, Ottawa: This region 'Got Rocked' with a huge dump of snow Feb. 16 and 17 2016. The Headline:

Ottawa gets buried in snow

Sunday was a beautiful morning and early afternoon and today colder (about 18 F) with clear blue skys. The rain last week took a lot of the snow. I`m getting that feeling that our Spring will `ìn fact` come early.

Toronto breaks two weather records for February

by News Staff

Posted Feb 3, 2016 10:32 am EDT ... Last Updated Feb 3, 2016 at 7:30 pm EDT

So today Easter Sunday.....HAPPY EASTER Everyone....was beautiful here and I'm not able to say officially but I'll be surprized if it wasn't a RECORD High Temp for this date. At 3 PM EST I checjked the thermometer outside the front door and it read an astonishing 32 C or 89.5 F.

but that looks like the calm before the storm:

http://www.ec.gc.ca/meteo-weather/FDF98F96-7BAC-40EF-A70C-D99775A11357/winter-header.jpg

After church I visited with friends and evidently the ice storm we had Thursday March 24 has 16 K customes still without electrical power.

We have a forecast for very heavy rainfall overnight so it's good that it's mild.

Hoping to get to 50 degrees today... we've had 2 days this year above 50 degrees, both were back in March. Most days have been in the 30's and 40's... and when it has been above 40, it has been windy and/or raining. Had many more days of rain/sleet/snow mix than we have of anything resembling warmth.

It was a mild winter, but has been a nasty, nasty spring - with no end in sight.

The temperatures I post here are read from a thermometer we have outside facing the west.

Yesterday 15 April '16 it was officially 15 C or 59 F in Barrie, Ontario, Canada and that was close to a record for that locality.

This Saturday it's (again reading our thermometer) a lovely blue sky and at 2:12 EST 27 C or approx. 80 F.

The good news ... warm weather has indeed visited us.

I live in the worst town in the western hemisphere... worst in every way imaginable. Only here b/c of family - once they die, I'm gone, lol...

Mae and I are retired and live in three places. Our life is good.
In the winter months we reside in cold SE Georgian Bay. It's pretty much hobby time. ie :pack: and Packerrats, Texas Holdem, Martial Arts training/conditioning and a lot of reading that gets me anywhere I desire to be.

In the Summer months we shift east. We spend July at my garden home located on South Shore of Montreal. There we indulge an awesome food variety; we enjoy the excitement offered in Montreal , a favourite city for many.

Then it's the peace and beauty of the very friendly downhome life offered in the Maritimes. We live life at it's fullest ...August through October at my country home in S. Central New Brunswick.

Then it's back to the South Shore of Montreal late Oct.- Nov. before returning to our Winter home. Time just flies ! :-)

I think of life as like...a variety pack of my favourite cookies.

Life is wonderful. :glug:

I'll inform you of where it's hot:

Fort McMurray, ALTA, Canada

The city has been evacuated. A terrible fire.

A beautiful long Victoria Day Weekend here in Muskoka , Ontario. Finally it seems the weather has warmed up. :-)

I had the pleasure of enjoying this golf course this morning. A fine test of golf. It's also extremely well maintained and just gorgeous located just south of our home on the eastern shore of breathtaking Georgian Bay! Have a look this is something else as a golfing experience:
