Stream of Consciousness Theory on 2015 Offense

Somewhere on this site, prior to the current season, we were having a discussion about draft pick tendencies. Original point was that too much time and money was spent on the Offense, not enough on Defense.

But the draft numbers actually point to a lot of recent attention on Defense, especially in the earlier rounds.

Does anyone think that is at play here? Does anyone remember that post?

Because I have been searching for half an hour and can't find it.

Maybe sort it by round, or by replacing your Rk with an Offense/Defense designation.
2011 was skewed to Offense, 2012 to Defense overall. Eyeballing the data it looks pretty even, especially over the last 3 years.
There have been a lot of R1 picks on Defense (Randall, HaHa, Datone, Perry), with Bulaga and Sherrod between the Raji/Clay picks of 2009. I have no problem with the R1 picks being more defense -- it seemed like that side of the ball needed a lot of talent.

Given that we have Aaron Rodgers as our QB and an offense that has been well respected throughout the NFL (I'm thinking even as far back as 2009) but a 'D' that has left much to be desired.

With some degree of confidence we should expect that Packer GM Ted Thompson will pick as he has or more for the Packers 'D'.
