Winston Wolf and Steve Gutenberg have been promoted again inside the organization. Since there haven't been any other shakeups, I am guessing that people are sniffing around them for jobs.

Thompson says promotions are not #Packers GM succession-related, but admits it's part of process in developing and keeping personnel talent.

Thompson said he wanted to reward Wolf and Gutekunst for their work and also make titles reflect their work on both college and pro side.

Hope wolf Jr is as good as his father and takes over once TT retires.

If he is as good, I would like to see him take over BEFORE TT retires.

I hope he's better than both his father and TT.

As he has just now been promoted to dfo I don't think he is as good as his father...yet. If he is we will have a stretch of excellent gm's (discounting Sherman years, doh) that I believe would be unparalleled In nfl history.

This is a good point. Sherman the only shart in the string.

Is it Brian Gutekunst? Wasn't there a Lee Gutekunst somewhere in the organization at some point?

Are you thinking of his father, John Gutekunst? He was the head coach at U.Minnesota for a few years.
