Not a bad reminder that change to the CBA is very hard, and that the relationship between Gene Upshaw and Paul Tagliabue was an aberration. However, Ross should recognize that by accepting that everything is a trade off going forward is a self defeating strategy. It refuses to recognize that players can put themselves in a position of leverage.
For instance, when the commish asks for a personal conduct policy, you ask for him NOT to be the arbitrator in exchange.
