The grim reaper has at least one more swing today. A long snapper needs to be signed. Act quickly or forever hold your peace.

I went with Burks because he is expendable for now and is highly unlikely to make anybody's 53.
edit: If you think Davis goes to IR, I guess that counts as a "cut." Doh!

i'm gonna guess that we cut the o-lineman. cause that would make the least amount of sense

I voted for Callahan. Knowing Thompson and how he does things, "Bo" likely won't be cut. But he should be cut.
Callahan could morph into Drew Brees down the road, but I am 100% confident no team, other then maybe the Ottawa Redblacks, will claim Callahan off waiver this season. The wise move would be to stick Callahan on the practice squad and let him learn the art of quarterbacking from the Great Arm of Butte without any pressure to do anything extraordinary.

Thompson claims RB ex-Vikes Jhurell Pressley. Burks' probably heading to the PS.

Burks isn't even making it to the practice squad. Bad day for him.
Still another cut to come.
Just looking at roster balance, you'd think one of those DBs gets the axe. But who knows what evil lurks in the heart of TT.

Burks will not be signed to the practice squad, per a source. What a brutal 24 hours. twitter.com/Michael_Cohen1…

HH is right. They need one more move on the 53 to fit in Goode.

Davis to IR is next.
One thing that makes this even easier is that the new RB returns kicks.

Yeah, the one thing that sucks about it is that it delays the development that Davis badly needs. I suppose he can spend the fall getting stronger and return next year with more ability to beat press coverage. If that was his main weakness this TC then maybe not a bad thing.

It appears that the final 54-man roster is set.

Dorleant
The Packers just announced Dorleant to IR. Goode signed.

Some would say that the people who selected Burks were the winners of this guessing game. Some would be wrong. Burks technically was the first person cut, but only technically because he was swapped with a Viking discard. The player who lost his job to clear to 53 was Dorleant, which HW predicted.
ps. I hope this finding by the Rules Committee is a lesson to those who voted for Burks after he was released.

Burks was cut for Pressley.
Dorleant goes on IR with the signing of Goode.

So Davis' shoulder is OK?
They had one shot of him on the sideline where he could not lift his arm past his shoulder. Then again, a WR is going to HAVE to be inactive.

McCarthy said they're looking at 5 being ready for Jax, so they've apparently already ruled Davis and Janis out for week 1.
(Will you try to play all seven wide receivers on offense?) I think clearly any time you have a roster where the number swings one way or the other it affects the way you play the game and the way you play on special teams ... the numbers at both receiver and the defensive backfield. We have two guys who are hurt...we’ll probably be working five receivers this week.
