Who are you kidding? The Colts have at least 2 TD's yet to score against this defense.

2 TDs win, and there is a lot of time in game

But our defense sucks and we have barely been inside the redzone. There aren't that many more possesions left. 4th and five should have gone for it.

We've never played a worse game that I remember in the McCarthy era. We've played some stinkers, but usually against teams equal or better than us, or against divisional teams that always play us pretty close. Stinking this bad at Lambeau against a weak team from another division. That just doesn't happen.

They have been headed this direction for awhile. This is the new normal for the Packers. But nothing will be done about it because they won a SB in 2010.

You know, we've been pretty beat up since the beginning of the season. That lack of talent at different positions, including skill positions will eventually show up. We may have been a contender at the start of the season, but we're just a team playing a lot of JAGs now. Look at our WRs. How many are JAGs? What about our RBs? Any JAGs there? Now look at the TEs. Any of those players JAGs? I think out of our skill players, maybe AR and Nelson are not JAGs. Probably no wonder they can't seem to click on offense.

Also helps when you have a safety and a linebacker that don't drop into coverage and don't blitz, but just stand flat footed 7 yards past the LOS.

Perhaps the McCarthy era has run its course in GB.
Almost every phase of the team seem to under perform every week. They're putting a bad product on the field now for the fan's and that shouldn't be tolerated.
I'd look for a change after the season if thing don't get turned around. It hasn't happened in over a year now and I don't expect MM has anything left to go to.
I don't know who said it but the Packers have become "boring" and that's not good enough in Green Bay.

best player- yes,
team leader- ? we really don't know the locker room dynamic he presents. he says he's not a raw-raw guy,
pedestrian for 20 games- you know that's not accurate. he's had several good games sprinkled in that sample. some meh, some poor, 1-2 bad.

like i said earlier the injuries coupled with so many rookies and back-ups playing has taken it's toll. hoped they'd win today, bring back some starters next week and win again, and set up some momentum for wash and phi. i figured a win today and win 2 out of the next 3 would be great...but no. now it's win the next three or the season is done.

You are splitting hairs and playing the semantics game. It's not about being rah-rah, he's the team leader in the sense that he's a 9 year starting quarterback in the nfl, a former mvp, all-pro, the face of the franchise.
Yes pedestrian. For about 20 games he's played about 4 halves of good-great football. I'm pretty sure guys like Case Keenum.and Blaine Gabbert could say something similar. He shows flashes of brilliance, but if you look at his numbers over that time frame, they speak for themselves. He's been a fairly innaccurate qb, that doesn't accumulate a lot of yards, and his team has been losing more than they are winning. That's the truth.

You are right, hasn't played well for good stretches in the past 20 games. I can't believe his skills have gone to hell but he is probably getting bad habits that aren't being addressed by this coaching staff. His fundamentals are poor and he doesn't take what the defense gives him. Every player needs coaching so perhaps AR needs a new approach from fresh eyes.

They have never taken what the defense gives them short. They will always look to go deep if there is single coverage somewhere. That is the entire design of the offense.

Its also part of what is broken right now because the deep ball isn't working.

In a way, it's as if the great play of the OL has emboldened M3 to pursue his offensive design in the face of evidence that most of his skills players lack the ability to win their individual battles.

the part that baffles me still is that despite this design, all the WR still stop to look at the QB. I am guessing to check if ball came out or if he is running.

But how about continuing the route while looking?

If they are doing it in a game, (stopping and looking) they are more than likely doing it in practice. Why hasn't coaching dealt with it there?

I don't think Aaron has accepted that Jordy is not the same player he used to be. Throwing a jumpball to him doesn't have the success rate it used to. So many times Aaron threw mid-deep throws into tight single coverage when underneath throws were open. He even tried a jumpball to Allison in the redzone when multiple underneath throws were open. And when is he is looking deep, then occasionally someone is open deep. The problem is he is innaccurate on those throws 9 out of 10 times.

I have no idea. Its baffling. Some of it is the route, lotta interior routes turn back to QB regardless of which offense is running it.

Some of this is an editorial decision by TV, how many outlets show you the full play in order to demonstrate who is open? And the deep guys usually keep going.

Probably has more to do with number of incomplete plays (plus Rodgers running) than anything else.

Well, that offensive scheme doesn't fit the players we have right now. Jordy isn't as fast as he once was. None of our WRs have any speed besides Janis who screws up too much and Davis is a raw rookie who is too small right now.

This is where the problem becomes chicken and egg. Rodgers has had open WRs deep. He has missed several. Several have been dropped. Some have been very close to completion by off by a tiny fraction so that its hard to assign blame.

If you hit those, like he did in Atlanta early, then the offense looks completely different.

His line yesterday was 94.8 rating, 26/43 for 60.5% for 297yards and 6.9 per attempt. It was all short ball with no YAC, and despite being short ball, the completion percentage was pretty low.

What's missing? Easy in rhythm throws for YAC, big plays (to bring Y/A up) and better red zone production.

None of it is a catastrophe, which is why the inability of fix it for 20 games is mind numbing.

It may be that because we are so close to hitting those quick strikes, MM and AR keep trying them and keep the iso routes as the staple of the offense.

It's just hard to believe that almost everyone sees this as a problem and he hasn't completely changed his approach.

The frustrating thing to me is that he has partially changed his approach to suit his current offense's abilities but cannot resist going back to what he really wants to be able to do.

Part of it has to be retraining the QB as well. There is always someone running deep to occupy a safety, so that choice can always be made. Need to train to get away from it while working on rest of offense.

Yup, it that ingrained decision making that gives you an overthrow to a fairly well covered Geranimo Allison at the back of the endzone when there is a wide open Davis(?) 10 yards away.
