Last "report" I saw said no one in the Packer organization is expecting Lacy to be ready before the end of the regular season, and maybe not even for the playoffs.
Shields, who knows if or when he will be ready?

As for the rules, they have to have been on IR for 6 weeks.
The announcement about Shields was October 18.
The announcement about Lacy was October 20.

Either one should be eligible to return for the Texans game.

I thought I read that the earliest a player could come back was 8 weeks after the announcement. Has that changed?

NBC sports had this in March:

Now, teams can simply choose a player who’s been on injured reserve for at least six weeks and activate him once he’s healthy enough to play again.

Thanks! Hopefully Shields or Lacy are ready to return by then.
