How do you turn the ball over twice in less than 3 minutes?
ThunderDan

Wow, what a horrible 3rd Q.
KC - 2 turnovers and 2 punts.
Oak - 2 take always both at the KC 18 yard line and get 3 points and 2 punts on separate drives.

91 total yards on 8 drives in the 3rd Q combined.

I think you mean still be winning. KC turned the ball over twice at their own 18 and had a muffed punt recovered by Oakland at the KC 38 yard line. OAK only mustered 2 FG from that.

Bingo. That game should have ended 14-7 but turnovers and special teams accounted for 13 points.

Who we cheering for tonight? Packers are 2 games behind Giants in wild card race. But if the Cowboys win, they clinch home field. That would mean they would have little to play for 12/26 when they play the Lions.

I'm really starting to think our best chance to make the playoffs is through that Giants-Lions game. We have to win out, but if the Giants lose tonight and against the Lions, we have a real shot at a wild card. If the Giants lose tonight and beat the Lions, we could win the division.

Giants are gonna play Detroit hard. And now Dallas is probably going to need that win against the lions to clinch. So the Lions have two very good and very motivated teams coming up, and then a 3rd with GB. I predict Detroit loses all three and doesn't make the playoffs We still have to win out.

It's hard to imagine that Detroit can win both at NY and Dallas. Especially with Stafford's finger messed up.
But can Green Bay win out? These are going to be tough games.
I wonder if Stubby will be tempted to rest Matthews and Perry and even Lang this week, in hopes he can eke out a victory against an undermanned Bears team while getting them rested up.

Hard to say about Stafford. Carr dislocated a finger on his throwing hand and is wearing a glove now, but he looked pretty good with it on against Buffalo.
I worry more about Rodgers. Will he hold up the rest of the season? Would you sit him against Chicago, hoping the week off gets him a little closer to healthy when he'll be needed most? Or, with backs to the walls, does everyone have to play?

#Lions QB Matthew Stafford’s dislocated finger described as “a jammed knuckle.” Surgery not expected. To wear a brace or glove going forward

I read ligament tear elsewhere too. They might be leaking jammed knuckle to downplay it. We'll see how much he practices.

that was the initial report. if you've ever jammed a finger the knuckle swells up and turns purple. that's ligament damage.

per ian rapoport:
Per ESPN this morning:
Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford suffered a PIP (proximal interphalangeal) joint dislocation and torn ligaments to the middle finger of his throwing hand Sunday
...The top of Stafford's finger was bent downward at a 90-degree angle and he had no control over the top part of digit, the source said.
Another article said for it to heal properly, he may have to wear a splint, not just stabilize it with tape as they did for him to complete the game yesterday. One said it is not certain that he will be allowed to play. So far, only Stafford has said he will.

Dr. Chao on NFP is exceptionally accurate opining about what injuries are just from watching replays and from some initial reports. His prognoses are usually extremely good, too
.
He thinks the finger was dislocated, which always includes ligament damage. However, he said Stafford should be able to play with it and the injury will have little impact on his performance.

The Bears cannot be taken lightly. The Pack has to see them as a tough team and work hard all week to get by them.

This.
Unlike the NFC West of 4-5 years ago, there are no buzzsaw defenses to deal with.
Minnesota and Seattle at home might be the closest but neither are as dominant as the 49ers-Seahawks defenses of a few years ago.

With the way this season has gone, I can't believe they will take any team lightly. Then again, these are pro athletes who often see things differently than "normal" people! :-)

In the NFC, the Falcons look good. At the risk of koolaid drinking, they remind me of the Packers. Great offense, somewhat improving defense. All of these teams have weaknesses,Ifwe make the playoffs, we could go pretty far.

I think they are all correct, he jammed and dislocated his finger and did some ligament damage. But its not so terrible that he won't try to play. Depending on severity, he might just be able to tape it, but might need a splint.
Depending on how sensitive it is, he may be able to go.
Worst case, it might need to be immobilized and he won't play.
