So it's the Patriots vs. the Redcoats...er, Red jerseys. Make of that what you will.

http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/18623474/atlanta-falcons-center-alex-mack-play-super-bowl-li-fracture-left-fibula

Alex Mack to try to play with broken fibula.

One source said that if this were the regular season, Mack could miss six to eight weeks, and the fact that's he's playing Sunday is a big concern among the Falcons.

The Falcons' staff is confident Mack will hold up in pass-blocking, but is uncertain whether he will be effective on downfield blocks or whether his leg will hold up. Mack didn't practice the week after the NFC Championship Game, then was limited in practice this past week.

Yes I'm sure the Pats must be cheating. It couldn't be superior coaching, roster moves and play.

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000783316/article/roof-at-nrg-stadium-will-be-closed-for-super-bowl-li

HOUSTON -- The explosive offenses of the Atlanta Falcons and New England Patriots will play Super Bowl LI on an indoor track.

The NFL announced the retractable roof at NRG Stadium will remain closed.

It's currently mostly cloudy and 75 degrees in Houston. The forecast did call for a slight chance of rain (15 percent) before kickoff, and minute chances (5-10 percent) during the game.

Tom Brady and Matt Ryan can both take advantage of the element-free conditions in what could be a high-scoring affair.

There was an article about how the last time the SB was played here (2004), it became extremely hot in the stadium. Closed roof combined with lights and a 4 hour game made it a sauna. Cramping could be an issue.

The New England Patriots and Atlanta Falcons announced their inactives for Super Bowl LI.

Neither team issued any surprises.

For the Patriots, wide receiver Michael Floyd, cornerback Cyrus Jones, cornerback Justin Coleman, offensive tackle LaAdrian Waddle, running back D.J. Foster, quarterback Jacoby Brissett, safety Jordan Richards won’t dress.

Nick Williams, Terron War, Blidi Wreh-Wilson, Dashon Goldson, Josh Keyes, Wes Schweitzer and DJ Tialavea will be inactive for Atlanta.

That means defensive tackle Vincent Valentine will play for New England, as will wide receiver Julio Jones and center Alex Mack for the Falcons.

This certainly was more an Atlanta collapse than a Brady win.

Arthur Blank blew it by pulling a Jerry and heading to the field too early.

Where are all the Pat's trash talkers now? Brady and Hoody the best EVER!!!!!!!

Never never never give up on Belichick and Brady and the Patriots...what a great team.

Only three of us got it right (the Super Bowl winner) in the Packerrats Pro Pickem:

esoxx, wpony and myself.

I really think Atlanta's best chance to win was at the end of the 4th qtr. They should have blitzed the hell out of Brady. NE scores, then Ryan has a minute fifty-two left.

Wow! That Falcon collapse makes the Packer 2014 NFCCG collapse look minor league in comparison. Let's see if this game sticks with the Falcons for the next couple of years and takes the wind out of their sails or if they recover and brush it off somehow. How can you watch a game like that and at least not ask yourself, "Is this shit fixed?" even if you don't believe it is. Meltdown of epic proportions!

I think that also goes for 2nd half onside kicks. Yes, short field, but one mistake or FG and you get ball back quicker.

What? How about RUN, RUN, RUN, FG after Julio's huge catch. Take time off the clock and give yourself a chance at a 2 score lead. Throwing the ball there was foolish times ten million.

Sometimes I question the Officiating but I believe there are way too many variables to work 'the fix' in the NFL.

I love it for Robert Kraft that the Pats won this game.

And it backfired in worst way. Penalty, sack, lost yardage AND stopped clock. Even if clock stops on incompletions, you can kick FG.

It's been over 20 years since a team made it to the Super Bowl the year after losing the Super Bowl. (Buffalo) So does that make the Packers the favorite to win the NFC next year?

Which Packer team Joe? The one with actual NFL starters at the beginning of the season or the one that's starting half a team of practice squad and Arena League players at the end of the year?

1/4 chance that the Super Bowl teams meet again the next year. That or a rematch of the GB/ATL NFC championship game if GB plays in ATL.

They are just now talking about that amazing catch by Julian Edelman. I have not ever seen a better Super Bowl catch. His concentration on that catch was ....well......invent a new word....

A defining moment in Super Bowl LI is the Julian Edelman middle of the field shoe string catch while surrounded by three Atlanta defenders. When I saw that catch my immediate reaction was '' WOW ! He battled for that catch.''

You can see that catch here:

http://sports.yahoo.com/news/julian-edelman-didnt-even-know-hed-made-the-catch-that-saved-the-super-bowl-for-the-patriots-074901723.html

Julian Edelman wasn't even sure he had made it as he said he wasn't sure what the NFL Rule is awarding such a catch.

I feel that enormous clutch catch defined the Patriots grit in their amazing Super Bowl comeback. Once they got rolling they would not be denied.

As an incidental comment:

Just when any opposing team feels they have all the bases covered on defence Bill Belichick calls another player's number and last night that man was ... 5' -10 '' - 205 lb. RB David White a Grad from Wisconsin. He ran for 3 TD's and set a Super Bowl Record with 14 receptions. Tom Brady as usual was steady and threw for an NFL Record 466 yards. Brady was awarded another Super Bowl MVP.

Tom Brady may clearly now be called the greatest NFL player All Time.

Tom Brady is now in a league 'all by himself'. This morning he awoke to realise he was now the NO. 1 QB in Super Bowl History in terms of games played (7) and victories, with five Super Bowl Rings; yet there is more.

Tom Brady is now NO. 1 in all of the important passing categories: Passing attempts, completions, total yards and TD's. In this Super Bowl Game LI Brady set more records:

Most passes in a game: 62; most completions in a game: 43, and most passing yards in a game: 466.

Here is a LINK to all the Records (24) that were set (or tied) last night:

https://www.bostonglobe.com/sports/patriots/2017/02/06/here-are-all-records-that-were-broken-tied-super-bowl/tr991NDdOtjaOikkJgY0lI/story.html

Tom Brady's HC Bill Belichick can smile now too. He has been the HC in the most Super Bowl games with seven (7). Next season he'll be going after his sixth ring. These two men ( Belichick and Brady) define exactly what it takes to be a winner.
