Which game are you watching? 3rd and 7, he throws the 4 yd pass. 3rd and 5 he throws the 4 yard pass and he just missed a wide open player on 3rd......3 drives, 0 points.

So excited for the season ahead

why? i hate to be negative but as a Packers fan i'm afraid it's going to be a chinese-water-torture of a season. another turn-over plagued comedy of errors is not on my list of favorite things to experience. watching brett giving it up with no reward on the horizon is tiring to think about. i really can't sit and watch and other team for more than five minutes, i'm not into fantasy football unless rooting for the Pack to win the superbowl this season counts. i like M3's attitude and style. other than passing records for brett and seeing what impact jennings, hawk, and hodge can generate i don't see much to get excited about. i think next season will be something to look forward too though. now...if go out there and win the first four games of the season, well...

Ok look yes it might look dissapointing for the pack, but that doesnt mean u can enjoy football... i mean....Nice touchdown

Daunte looks decent for first game back at Pittsburgh. They are in this game and they can't run. He was a big pickup for them. Bad pass. Actually, there was an opportunity for a big play on the Polamalu pick if he went over the top. I don't Polamalu would have an angle on a deeper ball.

They used to not show married couples in the same bed on TV. Now we see a guy put in a tape to get some real-time nookie. Viagra ad.

Is this an improvement?

I would have not even bothered with the tape....damn......

He narrowly missed another pick.....he done some good things but he again melted down....

First game in a year, at Pittsburgh, against one of the best defenses in the league, when you are unable to run the ball. I still think he's going to be a very good pickup for Miami. They are a different team with him. They have all of the pieces in place to be a playoff team.

that's why you got guys in the booth. no excuse for that. he actually SAUNTERED. Maybe he "thought" he couldn't go on the field, but hell, he had PLENTY of time. you either trust your assistants, or you don't. Hell, Madden saw it, it was pretty clear.

He hasn't won many big games, no question. He has won some games. He didn't exactly have great defenses to work with in Minnesota. Last year, he threw a lot of interceptions. I wouldn't say he's been that bad though. He had 64 TDs and just 22 interceptions in 2003-2004. Outside of 2002 and the first half of 2005, he hasn't really thrown that many interceptions. He never had more than 16 interceptions in the other 4 seasons. He fumbles a whole lot though.

I don't know. Viking fans act like he's a stiff and complete choker. He had some GREAT years in Minnesota, but many of those years he had horrible defenses to work with. He was only really poor in 2002 and the first half of 2005. I'd take a QB with seasons of 33 TDs/16 interceptions; 25 TDs/11 interceptions; 39 TDs/11 interceptions--and that doesn't even take into account his 450 rushing yards and 6 rushing TDs/season.

I think he's going to do very well in Miami. That defense will lift a big burden off him. He has a lot of weapons in Brown, Chambers, Booker, and McMichael too.

Sure, he choked tonight, but just like I wouldn't write Brett Favre or Brad Johnson off if they have a bad game this weekend, I won't write him off. It doesn't get much tougher than playing at Pittsburgh on opening night after long layoff.

I liked that little celebration by Joey Porter after the sack - imitated and mocked Culpepper's celebration. It was actually pretty funny!

He's been doing it for years. When things go bad, it snowballs with him. When things are rolling he looks like a HOF'er. That's just how it is.
He makes a mistake then starts making worse ones....that's just how it is.....100% of the time? No, but way way more often than most everyone else. I've actually seen every single pro game he played in, including the Phins preseason and last nights game. It's just the way he is. He gets your hopes up then crushes them when advesity strikes. I thought he played really well in spots, dumped the ball off well during blitzes....but in the end...well, you saw it.

Harv, I suppose you'll tell me I'm wrong too. But Culpepper did exactly what I expected last night. He has good games, but never pulls a team through in the end. You talk about his great years, but he had Carter and Moss and a great OL. What he has now does not compare. Lots of QB's can look good with those types around them. Look how most of the QB's during Green's tenure with MN did. All good. He fumbles alot, will make bad decisions, and now after watching last night you can see how he will protect his knee by just falling down after getting touched. No more fighting through arm tackles.

We'll see. Come talk to me at the end of the season. He finally has a defense and supporting cast where maybe he doesn't feel like he has to carry the team. That's worked for him in the past--when he had Randy Moss. Cris Carter? That guy hasn't played for the Vikings since 2001. Daunte had most of his best years after Carter retired. I'm not going to write the guy off after a year layoff playing against the Steelers. They've made a lot of good QBs look bad. I've always been a Pepper pimp. He's made the Packers look foolish over the years. His numbers against Green Bay are absurd, so I'm glad he's out of the division.
