Randall actually made a couple of good plays before that TD. Made a good tackle on Cohen and then covered for Jones when he whiffed on his tackle. I'd like to know the coverage call on the TD. I'm not entirely convinced that King didn't have responsibility for that zone.

I think the fact Hawkins is in the game over Randall tells me that Randall was responsible. I actually thought Randall was playing pretty well before that play. I'm not sure I like Burnett as slot corner though. I like him at ILB in nitro. He gave up the big play early in that last drive.

woodbuck27
09-28-2017, 10:07 PM
On the Bears missed FG the wind was blowing left to right and the kick stayed about 2 feet right all the way.

Packers escape one and it's still 21-7.

I actually thought it was a smart call. 47 yarder in those conditions is 50-50. Plus, a FG doesn't get Chicago back in the game like a TD would (not a one score game).

they weren't the stars of their teams, they were JAGS at their smaller schools. thats why we drafted 3 of them. we chose the "throw shit at the wall" approach.

they ruled defenseless receiver. your point would be valid otherwise.

I don't know what separates receiver from runner while tackling, but you can't go helmet to helmet unless you have a running coming at you basically.

running backs use their helmet as weapon against defenders all the time. Those defensive guys are just standing there.

I could be wrong about the rules, maybe we will learn this week.

Because one year they really cut down on helmet to helmet but left it open for runners.

For safety reasons, the Committee believes that crown-of-the-helmet hits by defenders that were previously legal because the defender did not line up the runner should be illegal regardless of whether the defender lines up the runner prior to making contact. When the rule was first implemented, game officials were instructed to look for three elements for interpreting the rule for initiating forcible contact with the crown of the helmet:
