NE holds off Tampa for the win. Tampa had a shot at the end, but too many passes in the field of play and a false start penalty wasted too much clock. Still they had a shot at the end, even if it was a horrible pass.
Also, these color rush uni things are awful.

NE is fortunate the Bucs stink offensively or they'd be 2-3 right now.
I agree. It also doesn't help missing three FGs.
In some ways, I am stunned Crosby is still here. Normally a down year like that is too costly to live through.

Crosby had a good track record, and the year after was willing to put his money where his foot is. He agreed to change his contract so that most of the money was performance bonuses, and he could only make what the contract was originally signed for by kicking really well. He did and earned every bonus, which turned into a new, big contract and never looked back.

He did do those things, but he had to stay the kicker in 2012 to agree to an altered deal.
In a franchise that is winning a bit less, the coach would have thrown a fit to cut the kicker in order to secure his job.

Jags might be for real this year. Weak division. #5 scoring offense. Fournette's looking studly.
#6 scoring defense #1 passing defense and leading the league in sacks. They're getting after it.
If Bortles can keep himself from losing games they'll be right there with Houston.
At Pittsburgh today good test.
Bengals look like they might have some things figured out too. That defense is legit and Mixon's a future star if he's got the maturity. Don't know much about that.
That comeback win won't have a lot of playoff tiebreaker implications, but it could look like a big win looking back later on.
Good early matchup with Buffalo, who I want to be good but just looks inept on offense.
Dalton goes down. Not sure if he's out or not but either way they can work with McCarron I think.

Carson Wentz is the real deal. Goff has a good passer rating, but the difficulty of his throws is low. Lots of dinking and dunking. Lots of free receivers off play action because Gurley looks like the player from his rookie year.

I am not one to stand on formality. But I do believe in restraint in many cases.
Al Michaels just said Watt's injury and the Dez Bryant one from last year were the same and that Bryant missed 3 games. The team hasn't even done an MRI yet.
In the meantime, this popped up:
Ian Rapoport @RapSheet 6m6 minutes ago
#Texans JJ Watt, who the team just announced has a tibial plateau fracture, is out for the season, source said. Another year ended on IR.
Everyone wants to know, but don't say more than you can possibly determine.

Seems Jay Cutler isn't the only think wrong with the Miami offense:
Miami Dolphins offensive line coach Chris Foerster resigned Monday and said he was seeking medical help after a social media video surfaced appearing to show him snorting three lines of a white powdery substance at a desk.
Hours after the 56-second video was posted on Facebook and Twitter, Foerster announced his resignation in a statement released by the team.
"I am resigning from my position with the Miami Dolphins and accept full responsibility for my actions," he said. "I want to apologize to the organization, and my sole focus is on getting the help that I need, with the support of my family and medical professionals."
It's unclear when or where the video was made, or how it became public. Foerster, 55, has been an NFL assistant since 1992 and joined head coach Adam Gase's staff in Miami last year.
"We were made aware of the video late last night and have no tolerance for this behavior," the team said in a statement that accompanied Foerster's resignation announcement. "After speaking with Chris this morning, he accepted full responsibility and we accepted his resignation effective immediately. Although Chris is no longer with the organization, we will work with him to get the help he needs during this time."
The video appears to show Foerster and the powdery substance on the desk. The man is holding a rolled-up $20 bill in his right hand, and appears to adjust the camera with his left hand.
"Hey babe, miss you, thinking about you," he says. "How about me going to a meeting and doing this before I go?"
He then snorts the substance into his nose though the $20 bill and notes "those big grains falling" as residue lands on the desk.

Didn't they trade 4 draft picks to move up and get him, too?? There goes your supporting personnel. I suppose they'll Bearify Trubisky's career by trading draft picks for washed-up free agents down the road. Then flush the whole thing down the toilet in 3-4 years.

Exactly. That is a coach and a GM who aren't in control of the situation anymore and are just reacting to stave off criticism.
If he needed to sit for a year and play sparingly, take the hit, draft high, go get a reasonable veteran backup next year.
