Gomer was the man, especially on Andy of Mayberry.

I read long ago of one of Jim Nabor's liasons with a young man. That didn't surprise me too much. But I was shocked when I learned that Paul Lynde was gay. His whole Hollywood Squares act was campy and all the adults knew he was gay. Now I learn that Pee Wee was gay too.
