Bio:
Two-year starter who earned First Team All-OVC honors and led Southeast Missouri with six sacks and three forced fumbles while adding 53 tackles (13.5 for loss) and one interception as a senior. Led the team with 13 tackles for loss and tied for the team lead with four sacks while recording 50 tackles and one forced fumble in 2016. Matched the team lead with two forced fumbles and posted 32 tackles (six for loss) and one sack as a sophomore.

Pos:
Athletic linebacker with next-level size and speed numbers. Breaks down well, effectively defeats blocks and quickly locates the ball carrier. Stays with assignments, moves well about the field and shows good recognition of coverage assignments. Somewhat effective out of a three-point stance. Forceful, explosive and plays to his size.

Neg:
Not a sure-handed tackler. Shows stiffness in his game. Better in the box or up the field.

Analysis:
Donnerson comes with next-level athleticism and was a forceful pass rusher for Southeast Missouri who constantly disrupted the action. He must round out his game and show he’s more than a box linebacker but comes with nice upside.

Overview
Donnerson's tape is nowhere near draftable in terms of his skill set, but from an athletic standpoint, his testing numbers are beyond rare for his size. Donnerson is a project that teams might not be willing to draft, but will be more than happy to stash on the practice squad as a PFA while they try and improve his technique and skill, hoping to unlock his athletic gifts. At this point, Donnerson is no more than a lottery scratch-off with the potential for a tremendous pay-off, but with the odds against it.

Sounds like the third round pick. Great testing, subpar film.

It appears with a lot of the Pîcks in this Draft that the Draft and Develop Process is still very much the thing in Green Bay.

If they were going to enter a 4 X 100 Team in a NFL Draft Class Track Meet.

The Packers would be a solid favourites for the 'W'.

When Ted said a few years back that he needed someone to remind him to draft football players and not just guys who had good combine numbers, apparently Gutekunst would not be the guy to do that.

I was thinking about that too. Maybe it was the old locker room towel guy who told him that. When he retired, it went all measurables. Of course the towel guy also told him to draft slow white LBs who remind Ted of himself - only, hopefully, wishfully, better.

Where did you go, Towel Guy? Packer nation needs you.

GBPG:

LOWDOWN: Took only one pre-draft visit, which was to Green Bay. Finished last season as the team’s third-leading tackler with 53, including 36 solo. Ranked second on the team in tackles for loss (13.5) and third in sacks (6). Led the team with three forced fumbles. Became a starter at outside linebacker in 2016 and played 10 of 11 games. Had 50 tackles, including a team-high 13 for loss. Was a two-star recruit while at Maumelle High School in Arkansas, where he had 120 tackles, recovered two fumbles and had 25 sacks as a senior. “I can put my hand down and rush the passer or I can drop, that’s what I did in college,” Donnerson. “They see me as a pass rusher. … whatever they ask me to do, I will do.”

25 sacks as a senior seems high.

I agreed with that sentiment 100% at the time and I still do for picks 1-3....and depending for 4-5. When you get to 6-7 there aren't many good "football players" left who have even marginal measurables. Might as well take the shot there.

High school. I think I had 12 and I'm slow and white.
