I’m rooting for this guy to make the roster this year. After not selecting a TE in the draft I like his chances, a former QB and WR in college he should be able to replace Rodgers as the third TE imo. Hopefully he can make an impact on special teams and stick.

I can get behind this guy ! Just glad the Plodder is gone. I may not have detested the Plodder so much had TT not pissed away a 3rd round pick for him. Come to think of it, I hated almost all of TT's 3rd round picks (Adams, Thornton, Plodder, Fackrell....there are probably more..lol)

Story is pretty similar to the UDFA guy we signed, Damon Gibson. Big, small college WR with solid athleticism transitioning to TE. Maybe one of these guys will surprise us.

Anxiously awaiting word if he had made the 53-man roster for the Green Bay Packers, the first-year tight end received a text from an unknown, out-of-area number telling him to bring his iPad and his gear to Lambeau Field. He was already a little put off by the fact he was cut via text and when he went up to the third-floor offices, coaches were happy to see him – only he thought they were happy to see him go.

“That was kind of brutal,” Tonyan said Monday “That’s how I found out – I went up there and everybody’s 'congratulations’ and I’m like, what the hell is going on? Why is everyone happy up here and I’m coming in to turn in my stuff? I got the text. They’re like, it’s just prank text from a number. I don’t know.

“I’m just glad I went up there and it wasn’t (true).”

Real good call on Tonyan. I was on the bandwagon, but it took me until preseason to get onboard. I love the stories about him working with Mercedes on his blocking. Maybe we will even get a coach next year who utilizes a dual skill player.
