Was this a first time offense? What do you do to get suspended for two games?

He pled no contest to operating a vehicle with a controlled substance in his system. I'm guessing that's worse than simple possession or testing positive.

Well appeal it and get it to one game.

He said he accepts the suspension. Doesn't sound like he's planning to appeal.

The NFL is judge, jury, and executioner. Appealing does nothing, Goodell is on a powertrip. But who's going to end it?

If he did it he should be suspended.

Love Ruts post. Players appeal and win all the time.

This is unfortunate, but it won't harm the Packers much. They are extremely deep at RB; It's only 2 games; And Jones at least seems contrite and hopefully will end up a better player for the whole incident.

players appeal every single time, and almost always get the suspension reduced

Jamaal Williams is probably slipping Jones all kinds of spliffs.

I like his response. He's a good guy. Maybe Ripkowski will actually get a few carries this season.

Hi wasn't cited for possession. It was driving under the influence.

Jones, the team's second-leading rusher last season, was cited on Oct. 1, when he was stopped for speeding on Highway 172 in Ashwaubenon, Wisconsin. A police officer smelled marijuana and said Jones' eyes were red and bloodshot. Jones said he told the officer that he had smoked marijuana that morning. No drugs were found in Jones' possession. Police administered a sobriety test and then took Jones to a local hospital for a blood test.

He just needs to stop being a user. Even if he only uses at home, he can still fail a random drug test. Of all the Packers RB's, I think he has the best chance to emerge as a feature back. He has vision and explosiveness. I like the fact he's not appealing. Put it behind you and move on. His parents were both Army Sergeant Majors. They'll straighten him out, if they haven't already. :)

Interesting story about his family and upbringing. https://www.packers.com/news/family-support-at-core-of-aaron-jones-success-19652849

Meh. Saves his legs for later in the season when the injuries mount.

Truly an illustration of the Blind Squirrel Principle.
