Did this happen? Or just speculation? I would think a trade like that would be very good for New England. It's one place where Gordon could play without much pressure, and heaven knows, if he ever plays up to his ability, he would be a holy terror for opponents - and we have to play the Pats later.

You are right B.
To sign Gordon, NE released Corey Coleman, fmr Cleve #1 pick.
Coleman has been with 3 NFL teams and released by all of em this year.
Gordon reported a hamstring problem & the Browns left him in Cleveland for the Saints game.

Let's pump the brakes on this. Gordon has a whole host of issues. If BB can make Gordon be sober, show up on time, and get his mental issues better then BB is in the wrong business and should open a clinic to help everyone like this. Football can be great, but this isn't some damn cure-all locale.

Greg Bedard as an opinionator or columnist is often terrible. Mr. Softnsmall (it was him wasn't it?) loves hoary cliches dressed up by someone who really does seem to pay attention to actual football matters.
But as a reporter, putting together verifiable facts and stitching them together into a sensible narrative, he's pretty good.
Greg A. Bedard @GregABedard
Patriots have the fewest homegrown WRs in the NFL (1) and most acquired by trade (3). How they became so desperate at an important NFL position (3 are used 59% of the time) to have to entertain the likes of Josh Gordon @BostonSportsBSJ

From what I understand about the way Belichick operates, he can drive you to drink. And Josh Gordon sounds like he's only about a half a block away.

Why didn't NE just sign All-Pro Jeff Janis?
