Bakermania baby.

I got some kind of vibe that Cleve will pull it out.

Actually I hope they lose it in the last seconds.

Me too. I picked them in pick 'em and hard knocks was fun.

Late pick, but the Jets still have all their time outs. It's the Browns, there's no such thing as a dagger for them. (Except the one used for self inflicted wounds).

People actually watched the Jets-Browns game? Both teams were a combined 0-32 last season, or something like that. I’d rather watch hockey than Jets-Browns.

I watched it to see the new and improved Browns playing the Sam Darnold led Jets. The game was awful for most of the first half, and then Baker Mayfield came in after the Tyrod Taylor injury, looked pretty sharp, and led the Browns to a come from behind victory. The second half was entertaining for a Thursday night game.

All the pundits had Sam Darnold as the next big thing and Baker Mayfield as another failed Browns draft pick. It's only one game, but Mayfield played well and I'm sure he will be the starter the rest of the season.

I just read/realized that Dorsey drafted both Mayfield for the Browns and Mahomes for the Chiefs.

The Chef's org had their eye on Mahomes for three years, according to gravity-well Andy Reid.

Taylor looked pretty bad and Baker looked pretty badass. I agree, how can you? The whole team came alive.

If it wasn't a Thursday night game I would have gone with the Jets. Hard for a visiting team on a short week to get ready.

Poor Tyrod. He's fragile, but he's a decent player. He's lost yet another starting gig.

Poor Tyrod. He's fragile, but he's a decent player. He's lost yet another starting gig.

He played almost every game for Buffalo the past three years and was consistent and sold, if unspectacular. Consistently lower attempts, TDs and INTs than compared with top QBs. His completion % was decent, but it cratered with Cleveland (Cleveland does things to a man). He's just not good enough to be more than a 50-50 QB.

AFC East and the Steelers who are convinced they will find a way to stop Brady with a zone defense before he retires.

Man, does this ring a bell. Remember Mike Sherman? Welcome to Reggie McKenzie's repeat nightmare starring Chucky.

Gruden is using a former twitter scout (who identified Jake Locker as the bona fide #1 QB in the 2010 draft class and Von Miller as overrated) as his Director of Football Research. Dave Razzano, who actually is a former team scout, helps run a staff of interns and assistants who keep Gruden's own draft and pro personnel board.

Its catching on. Earl Thomas now "investing in himself" and skipping practices. I don't think the NFL will give up franchise tags or non guaranteed contracts without some catastrophic league failure (possible, but not likely). But I do think contract lengths will be shortened for young players in the next CBA.
