Allison is a sloth, so no big loss. MVS is more than capable of replacing that sloth.

I don’t get the Whitehead release. He wasn’t Harrison Smith (thanks Todd), but he was probably the team’s best safety. I guess since McCarthy is too retarded to preach accountability, Gute has to send a message.

Btw, A-Jones belongs in the fucking doghouse, but he’ll continue to play b/c McCarthy is too retarded to...

If Gutey was just sending discipline messages he doesn’t make both moves. And A. Jones would be gone.

He is telling McCarthy to play the talent. Josh Jones here is your starting gig.

The remaining schedule looks easy on paper. More likely Pack will finish 6-9-1 than 6-10.

Problem is, J-Jones isn’t an upgrade over Whitehead.

Todd purposely tanked the 2005 season to “look good” beheading Sherman. German Shepherd tanking the season?

How do you know?

How do you know?

Precisely. GM wants to know if he can play and get better.

Also, Allison had groin surgery.

This isn't so much a rebuilding year as a 'show me' year. GM wants everyone to make their case to stick around.

A JSO article acknowledged that Whitehead is relatively limited in what he can do effectively; noted that Jones played quite a lot on Sunday in the same roles and offers much more in size, speed and overall athleticism; and suggested that maybe the coaches were satisfied with Jones overall performance. If Jones takes over the snaps Whitehead was getting, Whitehead isn't really what they need in a backup role.

Whitehead may have cooked his own goose when he got ejected and opened the door for Jones to get regular snaps on "D".

My son and I were talking about that point this morning. I told him my guess is that they were not playing Jones earlier in the year because he was taking more time to get used to Pettine's D. Once they determined he was ready, he'll get the playing time at safety now, also because they spent a 2nd round draft pick on him. I don't think it was just because of discipline. Personally, I wish they had kept him, but maybe they like the Northwestern safety they just signed better. It would be interesting to know why they cut him vs. benching him.

Let's hope so. I like your optimism. Pass the kool-aid, please.

We all need to face the music: the Packers aren’t gonna win the Super Bowl this year. Might as well tank the season for some hotshot pass rusher in the draft.

Put A-Rod on IR, and find out what Boyle is made off. On a second thought, pack would probably suck more with Keizer.

When you wonder why you're flipping burgers, refer back to the wisdom of this post.

Time to play the kids to get them ready for next year. A phantom season-ending Randall Cobb injury sounds about right pretty soon.

Cut Kendricks or Lewis and see if Tonyan can play.

This might be a key point. He might have "Pipped" himself.

I would take the arrows for firing a Super Bowl winning coach. Just make me GM for a day.

In OP related news, ESPN in Milwaukee said that Allison (My Aim Is True) isn't on IR yet. 4-6 weeks for core muscle injury. Stitched up by a hoagie guy in Philly.

He can return just in time to fumble away the season!

Maybe they were just confusingly making the point the he could return for the playoffs?

Speaking of which, Trevor Davis is practicing this week.
