All the routes looked 20+ yards down the field on 3rd down. Same old, same old.

That's our offense. I don't think we can score a TD against this team by dinking and dunking. It's going to take a big play.

I hope Philbin told Rodgers last week to just run the offense that he wants to run

And the last 2 weeks are the shot show that have resulted

Maybe Philbin can make arid see the error of his way

ThunderDan

i know. We bitch about Todd not signing anyone. Gute signs a new player every week, and we don't know their name. Maybe 5-70-1 is making us ignorant.

I'm beginning to think we need to cut bait with Jones. He's not a safety. He hasn't shown he can cover anyone. He's not even particularly special on special teams.

He hasn't played cover LB well. He's blitzed a little, but seems like a waste of a roster spot.

It will be interesting to see if they keep him around next season.

I don't think they will. I think Graham has a bad knee. If it's not going to get better, no reason to bring him back. They would save over 5 million by cutting him. Jared Cook will be a free agent. :D

Of course the defense is great, yet with the game on the line tied up, the Bears executed on offense and the Packers didn't. Nagy has a 2nd year QB and a bunch of new players playing more effective offense than Green Bay is right now. Nagy's done a great job.

Bach can

He blocked 94 a lot and got the job done. It was probably his best run blocking game and they scored off a run play with Williams over his side.

SPRIGGS™ got overrun twice by Mack.. I'll admit he still doesn't show one defining trait you can say is starter material, so the odds are against him. But he has improved. Its just not been fast or enough.

I would not trust him to do it for next season, but I would not be stunned if he turned the corner.

He actually played fairly well today - to the point where I could see him being the swing backup at Tackle. But against the elite rushers, he needs some scheme help, regardless of how much anyone wants him to be able to protect on an island.

It makes a huge difference that he came to a team with an already strong defense. With the Raiders, it was easier to scheme him out of games because they had weaknesses elsewhere. He'd make any team better, but his impact in Chicago was greater because of what they already had.

We forget it took Bak 3 seasons playing tackle full time to become the elite guy we see today. If Bulaga doesn't/can't come back next year and we don't draft or sign a FA tackle perhaps Spriggs will be good enough at RT going forward? Mack can make excellent tackles look foolish.

If that is true, how much of a difference-maker would he have been for the Packers? Allegedly, we have a few weaknesses too.

Regarding the price to get Mack, I would say whether he is worth two draft picks or not kinda depended on how long he had on his old contract. If he could have just been signed after this season anyway, that was a lot to give up. The other factor, of course, is how long Mack stays at the top of his game - with $90 million guaranteed. Personally, I hope he busts a knee, and the Bears are left on the hook for it.

I tend to think the Packers would have regretted paying what the Bears paid and will be paying to Mack.

Bakhtiari was better as a rookie after a week of training camp than Spriggs is now. Bulaga blew out his knee on Family Night, they put Bak in there, and he's been there ever since. Spriggs will be what he is now. A below average starter, or a barely serviceable backup.

I think there is a chance for one more "jump" for Spriggs. He has now gotten a ton of reps and film. He'll have an offseason to improve on that. We'll see what he can make of it next year.
