Looks like Colts will prevail 21-7. Another disappointing home playoff loss for Texans.

They weren't even competitive for most of this game. Watching Watson run for key first downs as like watching the bad version of the Packer offense.

That Colts D coordinator should be an interview.

funny I was thinking that - his running is the only thing that kept it a game, and it was like the Colts were just letting him have it.

I was disappointed by the Colts offense though - one TD after the first five minutes, did they even get half a dozen first downs in the second half?

Holy shit, Hurns. That ankle is all kinds of broken, that was Joe Thiesman territory :sad::sad:

Joe Thomas, Packer version, makes great special teams tackle on Lockett's punt return I think.

Weird to see Seahawks have big pass plays and nothing else on offense. Wilson is being molested in the pocket on most passes, even on rollouts.

Once again a bad year to be terrible for Packers. All these teams are beatable.

Still seeing evidence of McCarthy offense in today’s games. On 3rd down Chargers ran left and had four blockers for four defenders. Two Chargers double teamed and the two free defenders took runner for loss.

Brilliant.

Also MGIII hurt his other knee and is out.

I’m excited for Lamar Jackson but I am not sure he is ready yet. And this offense in general doesn’t make much sense to me unless it’s based on what he ran at Louisville.

Even then it doesn’t seem to work versus the Chargers D who are all within 5 yards of the LOS.

MM's O, and the Packers enabling, hasn't done Rodgers any favors either. they should have gone to the short game years ago, put more of a priority on the TE's/RB's in the passing game, and running the ball more too...i.e. a more conventional type west coast O. he's not 28 anymore. both parties have failed to realize that.

When you have 3 1st downs in 3+ quarters, and you're down 3 scores, staying with a rookie QB whose best plays are running the ball doesn't make much sense. Especially when you have a vet QB on the bench who has won a SB. Anything that might provide a zpark makes sense.

That is just panic though. Flacco has started the last six seasons on the strength of one post season and he has been bad each year and getting progressively worse.

well, when the ref is waving his arms and whistling the ball incomplete, why would a player think that they need to?

this whole weekend has been a really bad look at the officiating of the nfl. the networks all have former refs in the both to tell us what the calls should be, and they are just as clueless as the guys on the field

officiating is a joke. like WWE bad, which is why you here more and more people talk about how the NFL is rigged. a holding call here or there, or a non call, or a bad call on an incompletion can completely change the outcome of a game. and everyone will just think its normal.

it won't surprise me if someday in the near future we find out that the outcome of games (who wins or losses) was all decided beforehand

This might be the reason for the call. He might not only have been waving but also whistling the ball dead.

They aren’t supposed to do that if there is any uncertainty over possession.

exactly

they need to be taught from an early age to swallow the whistle in that situation if blowing the whistle ends the play like it did today

when in doubt, DON't blow the whistle

100% agree. Not sure what goofy ruling they made up.

They also said it was because no recovery, but they just showed the replay again; ref stepped in the way and stretched his arms out. I'd say he actively prevented recovery of the ball, a player would've almost had to make contact with the official to get to it!

i heard on one of the radio talk shows a couple months back. they were talking about a group of refs in a room, and they showed them all the same play. 60% said it was a foul, 40% said no foul

when shit gets so complicated that a group of refs can't even agree on it, thats when you know things are beyond fucked

and honestly, they might not have even been talking about the nfl, i could have been listening the the soccer channel

but still, it shows how one person can see one thing as obvious, and another person can see the exact opposite

Unfortunately with al NFC N Teams out and the Divisions only hope da Bears suck again. Down to the excitement of the Final Eight.

My take away from Eagles @ Bears: I dream that the Packers can land an impact player such as Khalili Mack a real difference maker. One Guy can sure help to elevate a Team and we have two first Round Picks to assist Aaron Rodgers with and two Top Prospects. Packer needs as I see it. OL, WR, TE, (Pass Rush) LB, ST's

Vinitari had a quote to that effect once.

Would be harder to do and a lot depends on the offense. But still a chance I think.

“Me and Haloti [Ngata] … we got penetration, got the hand up like coach always says. Tipped off my fingertips. Felt good … [but] actually, I thought I didn’t get enough of it, I thought it was going to go in."

That pic above is after Hester tipped it. His hand is in the black glove. There are other videos with a better capture of the moment but no screen shots I have found.

What I saw the past weekend was a whole lot of mediocrity - which makes it suck even more that the Packers are not there to take advantage of what certainly appeared to be depleted competition. And the four teams that got byes all seemed to decline a little bit toward the end of the season too.
