View Full Version : Official 2019 Packerrats Draft Contest

The Premise:

Pick 10 players you think the Packers might draft this year and what round you think they'll go in. Whoever racks up the most points, wins.

Scoring:

Points will be awarded according to the round the player was taken in, since predictions are proportionally more difficult in the later rounds. One additional point will be added if the round prediction is correct. For Example:

If you predict the Packers will take Noah Fant in the 1st round, and that happens, you get 2 points, 1 point for picking a 1st round pick, and 1 point for getting the right round.

If you predict the Packers will take Nasir Adderley in the 2nd round, but the Packers take him in the 3rd round, you will get 3 points for getting a 3rd round pick, but will not get the extra 1 point for getting the round right.

Feel free to update your picks until the draft starts.

I was robbed of ESB points.

You robbed yourself. You originally had ESB but then...

We are making a dramatic change:

1 Christian Kirk, WR, Texas A&M
3 Maurice Fountain, WR, Northern Iowa
3 Hayden Hurst, TE, South Carolina
3 Ogbonnia Okoronkwo, EDGE, Oklahoma
4 Isaac Yiadom, CB, Boston College
4 Scott Quessenberry, OL, UCLA
4 Quenton Meeks, CB, Stanford
5 Deadrin Senat, DL, Wagner
5 Marquis Haynes, OLB, Mississippi
5 Chris Herndon, TE, Miami
6 Alex Cappa, OT, Humboldt State
7 Jamil Demby, OG, Maine

If Ted was still in charge, he'd get him in the second. 6-2, 210, 4.46, we should all apologize for overlooking him.

Seems like the way to win is guess all late rounders and get lucky and hit on 2

I won a couple of years with that strategy (TT was very consistent in using visits for his late rounders). It's more risky with Gute, easier to whiff on all the high rounders. I'm still rolling the dice with that strategy.

1 JONAH WILIAMS OT
1 ANDRE DILARD OT

I'm being pessimistic here. I am ALL IN and going Defense and Defense in hopes we create a dominating defense with multiple playmakers. We have the stud QB; our offense can excel without being loaded with talent due to having an elite QB. So I absolutely don't want OL. So I'm predicting these two guys...who would really help us....but I'll be disappointed. I want Oliver, and either Devin White or Devin Bush. Pipe Dreams....I know. But if Oliver Fell to 12, I'd grab him and then trade up for Bush WOW that D would dominate

NOW I never win this shit; so now I'm going into HOMER MODE in Honor of my Badgers

3-- DAVID EDWARDS---UW WISCONSIN---OT

At 6-foot-7 and 305 pounds, Edwards possesses an NFL frame. In the run game, he’s a mauler on combo blocks and when he’s asked to punish in man-on-man situations. Edwards engages defenders with aggression, and while that tendency can appear to a bit much at times, he’s rarely caught off balance when opening rushing lanes.

4-- TJ EDWARDS---UW WISCONSIN--ALL AMERICAN LB

At 6-foot-1 and 249 pounds, Edwards is the heart and soul of Wisconsin’s defense. Edwards is a solid overall athlete that possesses quick feet with solid speed, explosiveness and change of direction. Edwards displays very good mental processing versus the run and is quick to key and diagnose gap scheme runs by getting downhill and filling the gap or shuffling over top of the defense, taking on pulling blockers with the proper leverage forcing the runner inside or disengaging and tackling the running back.

5-- MICHAEL DEITER ---UW WISCONSIN ----OT/OG

At 6-foot-6 and 321 pounds, Deiter shows the versatility to play all positions along the offensive line. Having played 2016 at center and 2017 at left tackle, he is now the Badgers starting right guard, which is where he projects best in the NFL.

Deiter shows a quickness off the snap that can contain speed around the edge without overcompensating and giving up the inside shoulder counter. He shows the ability to generate the movement expected on inside and outside zone runs. He is a clear fit right away in those schemes.

5-- D'COTA DIXON--WI BADGERS---Safety---Would LOVE this pick for GB--

Dixon is the gem in Wisconsin’s secondary, who possesses a leadership mentality that any NFL team would love to have in their locker room.

Dixon is best in man coverage from the safety position on tight ends up the seam. He displays good ball skills at the point of attack with nice tracking ability over the shoulder running deep.

Dixon as a beast in run support. He takes very proper angles to the ball to locate at the line of scrimmage, while possessing adequate lateral agility and a good ability to sort through trash at the second level. Dixon displays the physicality and play strength, while understanding his assignments in the run game and sealing the outside to box ball carriers back toward teammates.

5-- BEAU BENZSCHAWEL ---UW WISCONSIN--OG

At 6-foot-6 and 315 pounds, Benzschawel has the size that will intrigue NFL scouts who are looking for interior help of the offensive line. Benzschawel rarely loses the defender once engaged and has finishing ability with a nasty streak and an active leg drive. He carries overwhelming power with his initial punch carrying plenty of weight behind his hands.

The Wisconsin product has elite-level lower body movements displaying the adequate footwork to stay in control throughout the entirety of the play. In pass production, he is not overwhelmed by quick movements as he is able to stay on par with nearly all counter moves. Benzschawel absorbs bull rushes with a strong anchor and resets well if he is beaten off the snap.

7-- RYAN CONNELY--WI BADGERS----LB

Connelly stands at 6-foot-3 and 236 pounds. He has shows the ability to key and diagnose both zone and gap concepts with good discipline and awareness in backside contain responsibilities. Connelly displays very great lateral movement, scraping over the top of the defense with good quickness and body control to sidestep blocks in traffic.
The Wisconsin product gets downhill to leverage his gap with aggression and demonstrates reaction quickness and foot speed to match ball carriers’ angles on runs to the perimeter. Also displays good body control, adjusting to runners at the point of attack and making tackles from difficult angles.

In coverage, Connelly shows very good awareness in zone, eyeing the quarterback, and understanding which receivers could enter his zone pre-snap, looking for them post-snap, and

7--ANDREW VAN GINKEL---Wisconsin Badgers OLB
Any true Badger fan who loves football loved Andrew Van Ginkel. You could see this Clay Matthews hairdo look alike emerging as a Junior and being a dominant force in our Bowl win. High expectations entering his senior year were destroyed by injuries. High high motor guy who may or may not be drafted. But Badger lovers will wish this beast the best

7--ALEX INGOLD---Wisconsin Badgers--FB

Ingold was the only fullback invited to 2019 Senior Bowl and 2019 NFL Scouting Combine after playing in 51 games at the position for UW. During his career, Ingold averaged a touchdown every 5.6 touches (21 TDs on 117 combined rushes and receptions

Nicely done. I had even heard of Ka'Dar Holman. Then again, I hadn't heard of Keke either. Didn't follow the draft that closely this year.
