Joe Willie Namath will be interviewed on Howard Stern today. You don't care, you may even think it will suck. It will be great, it is you who suck.

You can find it on youtube, I bet.

I hated him with passion back in the day - leading his team to be the first AFL/AFC Super Bowl winner.

Coming out, eh?

When I was a kid in my teens, and that was prior to Al Gore inventing the internet, I read a book about the Dallas Cowboys. Someone asked Roger the Dodger why he ain't a womanizer, ala Broadway Joe. 12 said he enjoys women but he's a Christian.

As for Howard Stern, he's Jewish so I guess that makes it a-ok for him make racist jokes. I read Stern's Private Parts as a kid. Lots of boobs. Book inspired Dennis Rodman's Bad As I Wanna Be, which I also read as a kid.

Here's an inconvenient truth: I haven't read a book since Al Gore invented the internet. :(

Howard Stern truly is completely different from the shock jock era. He is a great interviewer. The show still is sometimes crude (in a bad way, it can be insensitive to mentally disabled people. My people.)

Someone (possibly many people) commented that when he went to satellite radio and could curse at will, it just wasn't as much fun anymore. Lost its appeal.

I saw Don Imus in a hotel parking lot after he got fired for the nappy head comment or whatever the fuck it was. He looked a sad, washed up, beaten late middle-aged dude wearing a lame cowboy hat and boots.

The morning TV/radio show that Imus did on Fox Business was actually very entertaining. He had a good crew.

Leading his NY Jets to victory over the Colts in Super Bowl III secured for Joe a permanent place in NYC sports. His knees let him down, but his celebrity has supplied him with a fine life. Few others can boast such post sport carrier longevity. Dick Butkus and Jerry Rice come to mind, but to be able to walk into any bar in NYC for 50 years not have to pay for your drinks, is extraordinary. Joe was also a magnite for women. I can only imagine that he lost count of his bedroom partners.

No, I can't fault Joe, he did very well.

Why should I care what Joe or Brett or even some NYC Shock Jock have to say about anything. Too many have been brainwashed over the last 20 years to believe that every comment on social or any other media is important/relevant. I respect Joe, but let's not get carried away with his importance. I understand that this time of the year is a low point for sports stories, but let's try to not sink to reaching for importance in the unimportant.

That's right. Packerrats has been long a bastion of high-thought, heavy discussions and deep thinkers. Only the best and the brightest here. Let's not sully our reputation with shoddy threads like this one.

I feel ya, Radagast. All we really have is time, and you'll never get back the precious moments you spent watching those insipid videos with an aged-out playboy.
But stick with it, my man. Up next are the Mark Gastineau sessions and those interviews are gonna be lit !

I just watched the whole 1.5 hour interview on Sirius app.

It was fucking awesome. Namath has had a really interesting life. He got so tired of the nuns hitting him that he got up and threw his books out the window and left school. He was scared to death of Bear Bryant. His nickname from some teammates was "nigger" because there was picture of him dating a black woman. The stories go on and on. Namath is really a wise person, kind of a country philosopher. I really like the guy.

Radagast, come on over to my house and we'll watch it together.

I remember as a kid watching the game - a preseason game, I believe - in which a Lions' defender took out Joe Willie's knees. That was about the end for him.

His nickname from some teammates was "nigger" because there was picture of him dating a black woman.

Once a man goes black, he can’t go back. In Tex’s case, once a man goes yellow, he’s no longer mellow. A wise man once said so eloquently, a man is whom he fucks.

Mobb is white. Tex, Asian. I’m black.

I, too, have been bombarded with the n-word. Oddly, racists often include the word “Siberia,” as in, “Yo, check out that ‘Siberia’ nigga.”

After shutting down Darren Charles, I asked Alvarez why he refused to mail me a scholarship. Alvarez asserted that D-1 ain’t no place for short corners. Informed the fat man that I’m taller than Jamar Fletcher, like rap and enjoy watching “Family Matters,” Alvarez was blunt:

“D-1 ain’t no place for short, Siberia nigga corners!”

You know, when we were kids, we’d watch Family Matters and only see a good, normal American family going about their everyday good, normal lives. Then in adulthood, society rapes us of our innocence, and all we see nowadays is a big, fucking race amongst the races.

My name is Tank Elf Duke. Thank you for reading my post. When I ain’t rocking on subway platforms for change (and dreaming of change), posting on Packerrats, self-pleasuring in the Matrix or flipping burgers for the minimum-wage, I can be found at The Laughter doing stand-up for beer and a chance to score with drunken chicks.

hahahahaha Thanks for the biography and culture lesson, APB. One correction, though: you just won't find anybody as Mellow as me.

About your ill-fated Badger career, why didn't you go the one of the other U.W. branches if you were that good? You coulda been the Ryan Ramcyzk of Corners - transferred to the Badgers and maybe gone on to the NFL hahahahaha.
