With J. Walk's stats last week (3 catches, 42 yards, 2 drops) someone here suggested that maybe TT shipped Fergy to Denver and we actually kept JWalk.

This TD catch lends credence to that theory.

It also gives the Pack a much-needed lift, and means Favre may be able to avoid feeling that "Oh my god I have to force things to happen" that causes him to throw silly passes.

I'd go conservative if the D can hold - if. I'd run the ball and call the classic short west coast routes.

Once again the Saints run the ball to the strongside, and we have no middle linebacker to fill the fucking hole.

that's cause their OL block the people they are suppose to. Their Backside guard made a perfect block to Barnett...didn't touch anyone else backside, just straight to Barnett. nothing he could do about that.

maybe we can trade for their OL coach?

Look for this team to build some chemistry and continue to improve. They're not a bad team per se - give them a few games to be judged. Next year (or the year after that), we'll be in a good position to win these types of games.

I have a feeling this is going to be another 1 - 4 start with a late surge towards the playoffs. Down the stretch we may show enough hope to have Favre come back for one more year. Colledge stoned all of his assignments today, I think he won back his starting job. The D-line played well in the first half, but seemed to disappear in the second. Our only liabilities in coverage are Carroll and Collins, and look for Collins to get stronger as the season goes on. The only Offense New Orleans was able to muster came on long pass plays. I'm liking how we're getting better each week. That fast start was key.

Wouldn't it be awesome for our reputation if we shut out the Saints????

It was at precisely this point that our fortunes began to turn.\

Prove it big boy.

This is like the guy who during the preseason win to the falcons claimed the homefield advantage was back.

Do you mean Mike McCarthy?

It's going to take time, people. Sounds like Colledge played pretty well. Maybe when Spitz comes back he takes over for Moll, and the line will get better. More holes, more time for Favre.

TT needs to draft a stud running back next draft.

First decent performance of the regular season for Hawk. Collins looked fast in run support but against the pass, well...

At least we were in this game. Unlike last week against the Bears. Is this another 4-12 season? If we finish that poorly Brett will definitely call it quits and retire.

I disagree.

Favre had to know coming back this season that the team wasn't going to be all that competitive. At best, they were going to be a .500 level team...more likely 5-7 wins.

If this team continues to improve on both sides of the ball week to week, there is no reason why Favre wouldn't come back. The coaching staff should remain intact, as well as the schemes. The amount of game experience on the team will almost DOUBLE...when you consider over half of the players on the roster are 1st or 2nd year players.

Favre will be within spitting distance of some of the NFL's greatest passing records as well. Barring injury, I see no reason why he wouldn't come back next year IF he chose to come back this year. I can't see how this team will be worse next season, and stands likely to be a considerable improvement.

Brett has been saying all along that he is not in it for the record book. IMHO if this is a 4-12 season he will be so discouraged that he will hang up his hat and be done.

I'm tired of the Poppinga experiment. He's not ready for full-time duty. Give Taylor a shot out there...he's not much older than Poppinga anyway.

Look at how many times we shot ourselves in the a**. Green's fumble, multiple drops by Bubba, another prerequisite drop by David Martin.

Favre's pick happened when the o-line couldn't hold off the pressure when Brett got clocked.

Definitely thought that Brett was going to grab some of the receivers by the facemask (especially Bubba) after some of the drops/bad routes.

Our safeties got burned with the playaction WAY too easily. Hawk showed some great lateral speed today.

Cullen Jenkins proved he deserves to be in the starting lineup. D-line for the most part played well. But the defense on Deuce's TD was sad.

The way Brett is getting knocked around he is bound to get hurt.

I don't care what he says.

You don't think he was out in the backyard as a kid pretending he was Joe Montana or Dan Marino?

Favre would NEVER come out and say the records mean something while he is still playing, because it will get blown out of proportion. That doesn't mean they don't mean something to him, and wouldn't be something in his consideration of a return next year.

It is only human to do so. And Favre IS human.

BallHawk

Favre had fun today. You could see it on the field and on the sidelines.

Sure, he was disappointed to lose. However, his desire to have fun and compete will not be quenched by a game like today. Continual repeats of LAST week would lead to his retirement...not what happened today.

When the Pack wins the poster who started the game thread makes the following weeks game thread. If the Pack loses the poster cannot start another game one for the rest of the season.
