one League, one championship, Divisions if numbers demand it but I think up to 20 players or so we are doing a common draft

Yes but strongly determined by votes of member teams

Commissioner will lock the team. If its functional its left alone, otherwise late in week pickups might happen to allow a full lineup. Will not edit weekly to fill bye weeks.

When is the draft scheduled to be held? Can a league member practice ahead of time with a "mock draft" on the host site?

Wednesday, Sept. 4th just before the first game of the season. You can test the draft app before the draft. There are mock drafts on the site, not sure if you can use the app to do your own mock draft. Perhaps others remember better than I do.

We have reached critical mass. Will do one League, one Division (for now) and playoffs to help keep this simple. If we get more sign ups in the next couple of weeks, then the League just gets larger. Can do 20 in one draft without a problem and can split into Divisions then. I have always wanted Ryan Tannehill (I mean Fitzpatrick) to start for my fantasy team.

I have seen it, most recently during the Great Flood of 2008 when I almost had to drive to Illinois to get home to Madison from Milwaukee.

The forthcoming draft time change was announced here on this thread and in PMs to board members. It also went out in email to the league participants.

I am waiting for any feedback from members before making it final tomorrow. That is when the website will change.

Many years ago, someone allowed me to co-own a fantasy team. I never performed any drafts or lineup changes, but I did learn from a good player how to run a fantasy football team. I salute your wanting to teach your son and praise you for doing a "project" with your son. He will always remember your time working together and will have a memory to forever think back upon.

Yes, there are I believe enough for two 8 team divisions, but at present there is one 9 team division and one 7 team division. Only the Commissioner (League Manager) can correct this imbalance.

I've been told that the League Draft may take place on Tuesday, September 3rd. It is currently officially scheduled on Yahoo for Wednesday, September 4th. Again only the Commissioner has the power to make any changes. As for me it does not matter, but such last second changes can lead to confession and result in much Auto-Drafting among members.

Yahoo allows for 15 players per team, while ESPN and others allow 16 players. I too have never played with more than 12 teams, but I'm willing to try it this season.

At present the league stands at 15 teams. Unless an additional team is added to make an even 16 teams, Yahoo will autodraft an ownerless team to even out the league. If you or another want to join the league, go to :

We use a SUPERFlex position (QB/TE/RB/WR). Let me tell you how this worked out for me last year with Brady and Wilson :roll:

I really like the flex the way we have had it. That said I understand changing it to not include QB's and I'm fine with that. But a decision does need to be made on it. I work from 5 tomorrow morning until 6 tomorrow night. I need a little advance warning if we are changing things just to rethink a few picks.

SUPERFlex ? Where is this defined in the standing rules? It sounds pretty suspicious to me. Don't the rules call for how many players can be drafted or on a team for every position. Let's ALL play by the same rules and not by "special" rules designed to favor a "special" few.

A little quick research shows that a Superflex Fantasy Football League has instead of the standard WR/RB/TE starting Flex position, a QB/WR/RB/TE starting Flex position is created. As a result, TWO QBs can play each week per team.

As a result, those that are aware of this important change will draft their QB's (2) as early in the draft as possible. QBs after all, the better ones, on the average score more points each week. Also with a 16 team league and only 32 NFL Teams, if you fail to get two of the top 20 Starting QBs early, your fantasy season is screwed right from the start.

The Superflex system might work well in a 10 or 12 team fantasy league, but with 16 Teams, such a system will favor those that (1) have used this system before and (2) those that are lucky enough to get the best QBs.

IMO, I foresee a disaster and if it occurs many will abandon this league when it becomes clear that it does not work fairly for all. I once left a fantasy league when the US Marine managing the league tilted the table in his favor.

Be very careful walking through this forest as traps and trip wires might get you.

If you had visited the site, you would know what a SuperFlex is. And you would know that no draft order is set.

Why do you seem to be eager to start trouble?

After sleeping on it, it will be impossible to enforce a 2 QB limit on people auto drafting. Which would be unfair to limit people who come to the live draft.

While getting one QB likely won't be a problem, getting a backup might be if other teams draft 3.

And that might just tick a few people off, since QBs aren't on the waiver like RBs.

So I am making a call that SUPERFlex is going by the wayside this year. Position will instead just be a regular TE/WR/RB.

Computer generated draft grades and projected stats aside, sometimes it's the player that you picked as a bye week replacement that scores 34 fantasy points sitting on your bench. Yes we all try to start our best/most dependable players, however a tipped ball or a foot slip can add up to gaining or losing fantasy points.

So OK the Draft is complete and the season is close at hand. Rookie and Veteran managers will now go head to head each week. It's time to agree that with 16 teams a Superflex league is not workable. Perhaps next season TWO, 10 or 12 team leagues, can find a way to exist. pbmax could have his modified league and I'd be honored to head up a standard league. Some may wish to compete in both, but a 12 team limit would apply in both leagues. Also, if two leagues is not enough, a third league may be possible.

Next, as a fantasy league manager over the past 6 seasons, I can't respect team managers that abandon a team in mid-season. It's poor sportsmanship and bad form. Even if your in last place, FINISH THE SEASON. I can respect a last place manager that finishes, as much as the League's Champion.

Finally, I'd like to say a thank you to all of you that stepped up to compete in this league. Perhaps the new season will find more members gaining more enjoyment from the NFL and making for better fellow forum members.

I am fine with a SuperFlex in a 16 team league; we all have the same rules and most Yahoo leagues I've been a part of have a SuperFlex. With a 16 team league there are weaknesses everywhere and it will be hard to get good waviers.

I enjoyed reading the post draft Grades. Although to be honest they are worthless.

DevinBush Playmakers graded out as a B+ and they predicted me to be about .500

Da Prodigy received a grade of an A- and Yahoo predicted him to win the Thompson division, or so the write up said.

I would prefer having two 8 team or two 10 team leagues to one 16 team league but this is what we had. With 8 or 10 team leagues you should undoubtedly have a SuperFlex.

And two starting QB's if the commissioner wants it that way.

A strange scoring occurrence has happened in week 7.

Oakland's TE D. Waller scored a total of 31.60 points for another team in this forums fantasy league. While in another Yahoo fantasy league with the same scoring system, this same player was scored a total of 28.10 points. The 3.5 point difference (+ or -) would not affect the week 7 winner in either league, but should not the score be the same in both leagues as they use the same scoring protocols. Both are PPR scoring systems.

To start, 16 teams is too many teams for a fantasy league. 12 teams is the maximum amount to allow for better flexibility and competitiveness. Also I don't plan to return next season so the "superflex" concept won't matter to me a bit.

Having been both League Manager and team owner in multi leagues, IMO, ESPN still is the top fantasy football game site. Yahoo Pick-em is good, but a player needs to be extra careful to check and verify your picks every week. An error can cost you a lot. but I probably will play this again next season.

I will try to revive the ESPN league that I ran for 6 seasons for next year. Limit will be 12 teams with no "superflex" or "rigged"draft trades. The most difficult part, as always,will be recruiting team owners. The securing and inviting of players does not allow for anyone joining without being invited.

Luck plays a major role in every fantasy football league season. We select our starters as best we can, but we cant go and play for them. Example: I thought that RB David Johnson (Arizona) would be healthy this season and put up great numbers, he's a flop.
